I'm not saying that it's not a racist gesture, but I'm not sure what he's trying to do there. I'm mystified by the guy on the left with his hands on his face, smiling his arse off.
Looking at this pic, you'd think Sonny just scored at Stamford Bridge... please log in to view this image
Can somebody please explain the current rules of what constitutes a red card offence for dangerous play?
The away team doing exactly this Not sure why the ref pussed out, the worst he'd have got from that crowd is the sound of somebody spilling their Babycham or maybe, at a push, somebody asking to see his manager
So pleased to see Spurs and Ange stick to their guns and produce a performance that deserved to come away with a result. I was excited when Conte arrived but I began to doubt and frown when going into the Chelsea game he said that they were better than us and played down our chances. That's a manager putting his ego before the team and radically changed my perception of Conte. I can't see Ange adopting such an attitude and I am looking forward to it. OK I think it will be hard and dangerous playing City like this but I much prefer the new Spurs attitude to the hiding in the shadows that we have had in the past few seasons. Early days but Spurs will only get better as the season progresses.
Isn't it deliberately leaving the field of play without permission? There is no wall at the Dictatorship Stadium, so what would someone have to do? Jump the hoardings?
No. It's a specific mention in the Laws Celebration of a goal Players can celebrate when a goal is scored, but the celebration must not be excessive; choreographed celebrations are not encouraged and must not cause excessive time-wasting. Leaving the field of play to celebrate a goal is not a cautionable offence but players should return as soon as possible. A player must be cautioned, even if the goal is disallowed, for: • climbing onto a perimeter fence and/or approaching the spectators in a manner which causes safety and/or security issues • acting in a provocative, derisory or inflammatory way • covering the head or face with a mask or other similar item • removing the shirt or covering the head with the shirt
I think they've changed it, then. Not sure when, either. Don't like the vague language. What does "in a manner which causes safety and/or security issues" mean? Just invites inconsistency, though I'm sure they're given some instruction on interpretation.
That was clearly serious foul play. He was out of control and luckily for Vicario didn't make contact with his shin, but he definitely endangered the safety of Vicario
