About to set off for the game, my first NLD at the new ground, and I am really looking forward to it.

This is a game where form goes out of the window and the good news is that Conte has had all week to prepare the team.

I expect a feisty encounter and goals, if you offered me a draw now I would bite your hand off, but I have feeling that there will be a late winner.

With Howard Webb now in charge of refs and seeing the decision United got yesterday I can see the ref and VAR being our friend today for once.

Today's result bears huge significance for the league as well as being a massive game in its own right.

Lose today and whichever way Newcastle v Fulham goes it is bad - either Toon open up a 5 point gap on us or Fulham move above us. Brighton and Brentford should get 3 points from their next games so with a double header against Citeh and Fulham away on the horizon, we could easily find ourselves 8th by the first week of Feb.

Give it some for me, I hope to get there next year. Not been since Wembley days either when Kane got the only goal. I'd take Kane getting the winner today.

Pretending that the rapist that you start in every game isn't a rapist also helps...

    Not at all.

    NLDs are 90 mph affairs.
Perisic is not up to much of 90 mins of that.
So he should be good for final 30 mins max
(depending on how the game is going) .

So then play Davies, Sessegnon is a terrible footballer over any 90 minutes.

He’s assisted a winner in a NLD in this universe by running down the left.

Running up and down is all well and good if you’re a competent footballer, unfortunately Sessegnon isn’t the latter.

If you want an attacking WB you have Perisic, if you want a defensive one you have Davies, if you want a pointless one you have Sessegnon.

Davies is better defensively and at least has an NLD assist for Kane from a left wing cross on his CV. He was also arguably our best player last time out.

    Absolute madness to start Sess.

But what a vote of confidence for Sarr to be selected ahead of Bissouma and Skipp!

Good to see Richarlison back in the squad and Kulu back on the pitch. Both need a solid run of fitness now to show what they can do.

Reading Romero's interview pre the NLD , what's the chance of a red for him today, he seems well fired up for it .....too much probably

Hopefully the logic is we'll be crap in the first half either way so might as well rest Perisic for that and bring him on fresh at half time.
