Conte is very conservative in his team selection. Depite him saying it's a squad not a first 11 there is clearly a first 11 and it's hard for the other guys to break into the team. That I think is how all top managers operate despite all their words to the contrary.
An away game against the top 6 of last season will require a strong(est) starting XI. Any dogma that Conte has will betray itself in the starting XIs he selects for other PL opponents (more so given the fixture compression this season) .
I am looking at his selections in all our games not just this one, but as you say we will see more of his strategy as the seasons pans out. Having said that we have the massive intervention of the World Cup so it may not be that clear all the way through.

Hugo's restarts are total rubbish of late , Conte needs a restart coach as we seem to have one for every other part of the game
