"All clubs are able to apply for a postponement if COVID-19 infections are a factor in their request."

This is from the Statement. The game was allowed to be postponed because there was ONE covid infection that was a factor?

    What a joke.

    Better?

We'd just hate Chelsea a bit more and might actually pay attention to some of the other London clubs.

    Jeff Stelling's not impressed:

It's clearly that age-old rivalry between Hartlepool and Woolwich. Or something.

Last verse, same as the first.

    Football dodgy rule process:

    1. Make dodgy rule
    2. Ask: Has it screwed Spurs yet?
    3. If not, continue.
    3. If so, change it before it screws someone else.

Any player on loan who is able to be recalled counts as available so they've covered that one

My 19 year old niece in her 1st year of training as a maternity nurse had to work on a Covid ward because most of the senior staff either had it or were exhausted, she worked for 8 12hr nights straight and every night held the hands of dying people all the while being paid a pittance, ask her how she feels about a few healthy young footballers who are paid in a week what she earns in a year who are not able to turn out for their team
**** football it's rotten to the core

That's not true either. Any u21 player who has played a PL match counts.

Fair point, I don’t know how standard recall clauses are in loan contracts and if it’s at the discretion of the loaning or loanee club.

But there’s plenty who haven’t had PL minutes who play in the 23s or anything U18 upwards. If all our CBs got injured or suspended but everyone else in the squad was healthy then we’d have to find a solution and play the game using youth players.

EDIT: I also don’t know if that’s true? If they don’t have to be registered in the squad are they counted if they’ve had minutes?

In defense of the EPL, it must be hard writing sensible rules and making sensible rulings when you're constantly tumbling in and out of that little clown car.

So Arsenal had one positive COVID case, Spurs had none.

I should point out that the Rule I posted is subject to an Implementation Notice which I suppose might have amended it.

Odd because the rule in their Handbook doesn't even mention covid in the section on postponements.
Personally it wouldn't seem right to me that if you had 12 players out with broken legs you would have to play.....

To be fair they probably ought to have waited for Sue Gray to finish her Inquiry.
