A couple of times you can hear Jermaine Jenas trying to speak and just nonsensical noises coming out....followed shortly by...
"I can't believe it.......Oh my god!"
You can hear the shock and emotion in his voice. The other commentator says that he was in tears. It's pretty much where I was. A second before Lucas scores, I was trying very hard to find a coping mechanism for our defeat, having really believed we were going to the final before the game and after we scored our second on the night.
I went to see my old man yesterday. He'll be 80 this year and has been attending Spurs for 70 years. He's as excited as a kid about the final, as am I. It's a wonderful, wonderful thing for a club that's had some tough times since we last won in Europe.
He's squeeling..turn it up...he's hyper ventilating...just be honest JJ...you had a massive cry like the rest of us...at the end of the day we are long suffering fans.
My head was in my hands when we missed our 'last chance'....when Luca scored...it was all fuzzy...I was on the floor...couldn't hear anything...just a buzzing noise in my ear...thought I was going to die...my kid Came into the room...you ok dad? All I can here is you punching the floor and saying 'OMG'...I just looked at him and pointed at the score because had I said anything verbally I would have been blubbing like a baby
Football!
