Simon What'shisface, the holiday expert suggests you should make a week of it.
A holiday in Malaga for c.£350 per person with a fast train link to Madrid.
I'm sure what accommodation he was thinking of, but six people could rent a decent villa for that.

One option my cousin was looking at was flying to Faro and hiring a camper van to then do a drive into Madrid which I think he said would take around 6-8 hours. Camper van holds four people but five of us will likely go if we do decide to do it. Think he said we’d be looking at around £350 per person plus the cost of petrol and then spending money.

I actually don't think I should jump the queue by being a Premium seat holder. I was happy to upgrade to a Premium seat because I would have qualified for a Season Ticket anyway, and since I can afford it it seemed to me that I was just leaving a cheaper option for someone else who could not. But in this case I don't think I should get priority. I reckon the pricing of a premium seat, hotel and flights is going to be over £2k though....
Shame others do not share your morals... <applause>

Note ... not a comment on anyone here...just on those who used to sell their tickets onstub hub at ticket toutprices <grr>

How cool to do it in a camper van.
So envious.
The Scousers are going in a Ford Sierra Mk I nicked on Wednesday.

It's market forces - which most governments champion.
Supply and demand.

Rather bizarrely, when Coca-Cola were going to bring in vending machines that would increase the price as temperatures rose, there was uproar and they dropped it.

If we want to stop this stuff, we just have to stop paying for it.

When I ran a business in France I employed 4 Scousers. Interesting characters. They were proud of their part in the Toxteth Riots, they told me that they spent their time nicking tv's and stereos from retailers after breaking shop windows to enter. They were not silly though, they sole a bilge pump of a boat in St Tropez harbour, wired it up in the boot of their stolen mini and could open their boot, put the discharge pipe into their fuel tank, crack the fuel tank on any parked car and fill their mini in under 6 seconds, quite impressive really.

Did he decide not to because his arms would ache so much ?

Has anyone actually booked up Madrid yet? Or have any plans to do so?

Also, anyone here confident or guaranteed to get a ticket for the game? I think I might have a chance of getting one, though will likely be tight.
Waiting for confirmation - source is an A/Mad season ticket holder...... No price yet and travel still up in the air..... Or on the tracks

Is anyone anywhere near the loyalty point total needed for a ticket?
Premium seats don't seem to get loyalty points but I've just had an email saying that I can apply to go in a ballot for the Cat 1 or Cat 2 tickets. I had a look at the Thomas Cook web-site which has a day trip from Stansted from £550 but you can only buy the air ticket once you have been allocated a ticket by the club and they don't expect to be able to accommodate everyone who wants one (which I suppose isn't surprising since 16,000 tickets is 100 plane loads).

I’m on 181. Which would mean that as long as my maths is correct, judging by this table the lowest I can be is around 18,900 (which I won’t be seeing as I’m 30 points above the 150 cut off). I’d guess that I’m around 17,000, possibly even 16,000.

So I’d say there’s a decent chance I’ll get offered one as I doubt every single person in front of me will buy a ticket.
