Take Davies off. No point in risking him after that awkward looking fall. Edit: Now subbed for ***an-Walcott.
why not? was a tough one but that’s surely a good thing? Very good bus parky team…we will come across a fair few in our quests this season
Too much filth and we couldn't counter-attack, as they'd just foul because no cards. Risky, tiring and no opportunity to work on transitions.
Consider them nothing more than a non-training opportunity to stretch the squad legs for 90 mins. The Spurs Korea PR/branding trip is over.
Korea is climbing steadily up my favorite countries list. It's certainly easy to justify a tour when it's met by a couple of big stadia packed with fans in new #7 kits.
I like Conte auditioning wingbacks. Both White and Moura have shown potential. As it stands, assuming Spence is coming in, at RWB, we've got one player who can do everything but create goals, one who can't do anything (much) outside of creating goals, and a third trying to go from the Championship to the Champion's League. Moura might be better than any of them.
Probably about right after the team were a bit sloppy against the K-League Allstars to see if the sloppiness was lack of prep or merely not taking the opponents seriously, and it has to be said it feels like a Conte thing to do to have us get prep against a team who'd be sly with their fouls even in a friendly
I'll mention this next time I have Korean BBQ in Earlsfield , but I know what they will say " that humanbeingincroydon he's just a cheapskate"
He did that a fair bit last season, though I do not remember specific instances materially costing Spurs any points. One key feature of a squad that has good breadth nd depth is that by playing so, you are effectiviely playing yourself out of regular starting XI slots (so raise your game and remove the errors) .
The only two to not look bad so far in pre-season are the ones not even actual WBs. Whites’s cameo vs K League was very impressive and Lucas showed good intent today, even if things didn’t always pay off. Not sure if we should find that amusing or alarming though. It won’t happen but I wouldn’t blame Conte/ Paratici for taking a risk and selling all our old WBs and having two new ones in to have a complete reshuffle with Perisic and Spence competing with the other new guys. The others just haven’t cut it to date on a consistent scale and there’s been nothing so far in pre-season to suggest things are gonna change with them.
I only caught a snippet of the first half but not surprising to read we struggled to break down a defensively well organised team with that midfield that started. Hopefully Bissouma’s ball carrying will help give us another edge in those situations once he’s over covid.
