LAWRO'S PREDICTIONS All kick-offs 15:00 BST unless otherwise stated. SATURDAY please log in to view this image West Ham v Tottenham (12:30 BST) Tottenham slipped up again at home last week, when they had to settle for a draw against Swansea, and results like that are not going to stop people talking about them struggling at Wembley. Spurs do not have to worry about that for a few weeks now, though, because this the first of three away games in a row for them in the Premier League and Champions League, but I don't think things will get any easier for them at the weekend. Tottenham's next three games Saturday, 23 September West Ham (Premier League) away Tuesday, 26 September Apoel Nicosia (Champions League) away Saturday, 30 September Huddersfield (Premier League) away After they made such a poor start to the season, West Ham's form has picked up in the last couple of weeks. Slaven Bilic's side have taken four points from their past two matches and I think they will get something from this game too. Lawro's prediction: 1-1 Strong's prediction: I am going for a Spurs win - unfortunately. 1-2 Match preview please log in to view this image Burnley v Huddersfield This is the beginning of an important period for Huddersfield after their impressive start to the season. It is important that the Terriers keep on picking up points, like they did with their draw at home to Leicester last week, and their approach in away games is going to be interesting. Huddersfield did not offer very much going forward in their defeat at West Ham on their last away trip, and that has to change. Burnley's best results this season have come away - at Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham - and they have struggled for goals a bit at Turf Moor. But you always know what you are going to get from Sean Dyche's Burnley team, which is hard work and organisation, and I think the Clarets might just edge this one. Lawro's prediction: 2-1 Strong's prediction: 1-1 Match preview please log in to view this image Everton v Bournemouth I was at Goodison Park on Wednesday night to see Everton beat Sunderland 3-0 in the Carabao Cup and it ended up being a comfortable win for them. But with the score at 0-0, the former Toffees striker James Vaughan missed a great chance for Sunderland because of a poor touch, and Everton were ordinary until then. Everton's problem is probably the opposite of Bournemouth - while Ronald Koeman's side are struggling to score goals, the Cherries' problem is stopping them. Because of that, I am going to go for a draw. Lawro's prediction: 2-2 Strong's prediction: 2-0 Match preview please log in to view this image Man City v Crystal Palace This game is the start of a really difficult run for Palace, who follow it up by playing Manchester United (away) and Chelsea (home). It does not really get much tougher than that but new Eagles boss Roy Hodgson will learn a lot about his players and, however many or few points they pick up, he will be left with 30 games to keep them up. City are in fantastic form and nobody is expecting Palace to get anything on Saturday, so you would not say they are under pressure either. If they do, it will be a bonus. Lawro's prediction: 3-0 Strong's prediction: I was going to say 4-0 but come on, let's help Palace to get a goal. 4-1 Match preview please log in to view this image Southampton v Man Utd Quietly and - in terms of the number of goals they have scored - unspectacularly, Southampton are doing alright, with two wins and two draws from their first five games. Saints do not give much away but it is hard to keep this Manchester United side quiet. I am expecting United to dominate this game and create lots of chances. Eventually they will find a way through. Lawro's prediction: 0-2 Strong's prediction: 1-3 Match preview please log in to view this image Stoke v Chelsea Stoke boss Mark Hughes was absolutely fuming after Tuesday's Carabao Cup defeat by Championship side Bristol City and he will get a reaction from his side. The Potters will set it out to make it difficult for Chelsea, and they showed against Manchester United earlier in the month what they are capable of against the top teams. Chelsea are no pushovers, though, and will be ready for a battle. Lawro's prediction: 1-1 Strong's prediction: 1-1 Match preview please log in to view this image Swansea v Watford Swansea picked up an excellent point against Tottenham at Wembley last weekend, while Watford got thumped by Man City. Media playback is not supported on this device Paul Clement 'proud' of Swans' disciplined defending The Welsh side's home form has been not been great so far - they have lost both their league matches at the Liberty Stadium - but that is something they can put right this weekend. I don't think Watford will worry too much about what happened against City last week, because of the calibre of the opposition, but I am still not really sure what to make of the Hornets. They made an excellent start to the season but they are what I would call a 10-game team, because it is going to take that long to work out what they are about and how good they actually are. Lawro's prediction: 2-1 Strong's prediction: 2-0 Match preview please log in to view this image Leicester v Liverpool (17:30 BST) Liverpool should really have been clear by half-time when they went to the King Power Stadium in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, but ended up losing 2-0. But I would be less concerned by them failing to take their chances, and more worried about how they are falling apart at the back. Because every time the Reds have come under pressure defensively, they concede. The bottom line with that is, whatever the personnel and whatever the formation, it is the same old mistakes that are happening. That tells me that those players aren't able to cope with what they are being asked to do. What will help Liverpool a lot on Saturday is if Leicester striker Jamie Vardy misses the game with his groin injury. The Reds have really struggled against Vardy in the past - he has scored twice in each of their last two visits here in the league - so if he is absent or not 100% fit, then their defence will have a much easier time of things. Lawro's prediction: 1-2 Strong's prediction: 2-1 Match preview SUNDAY please log in to view this image Brighton v Newcastle (16:00 BST) Newcastle won at the Amex Stadium in February, when both of these clubs were in the Championship. The Magpies' run of form, with three straight wins, would suggest they are going to do same when they return to the south coast on Sunday, but I am actually backing Brighton here. The Seagulls have not done anything spectacular so far but that is not a problem, and their manager Chris Hughton is not the type of manager to panic. What Hughton will be doing is planning his side's route through the entire campaign, with the aim of finishing at least one point above the bottom three. I hate the phrase 'must-win', especially at this stage, but Hughton will know this is a game that his side really need to get something out of if they are going to stay in the top flight. Lawro's prediction: 2-1 Strong's prediction: 2-0 Match preview MONDAY please log in to view this image Arsenal v West Brom (20:00 BST) A lack of goals in West Brom's big problem - there is never anything wrong with them defensively. But this is a game that Arsenal will win because they are at home and they will have absolutely loads of possession. The Gunners have also got lots of players who can make a difference in games like this and, even if they have to be patient, they will find a way to get past the Baggies in the end. Lawro's prediction: 2-0 Strong's prediction: 3-1
Paul Merson's predictions: West Ham v Tottenham - live on Sky Sports Premier League, Saturday from 11.30am West Ham have turned a corner after good performances against Huddersfield and West Brom but I can't look past Tottenham here. They have been very good away from home - what they did at Everton was brilliant - and I can see them scoring three again. The Hammers were good against Huddersfield and solid at The Hawthorns but Tottenham are a cut above both. Spurs need to sort out their Wembley problem because it will ruin their Premier League chances if they aren't careful. PAUL PREDICTS: 1-3 please log in to view this image Ahead of West Hams clash with Tottenham, we take a look back at some of the best goals, memorable moments and great players that have graced this fixture; Brighton v Newcastle - live on Sky Sports Premier League, Nissan Super Sunday from 3.30pm I know it's only five games but Newcastle have done superbly to get into the top four - not many people saw that coming! Their fans will be full of confidence and looking for another win but Brighton make it difficult for opponents at the Amex. Man City were made to work hard and West Brom were dispatched 3-1. A draw would be a good result for the visitors, they should take that all day long. PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1 please log in to view this image <img Arsenal v West Brom When West Brom visit you expect it to be a hard, tight game. The Baggies will look to frustrate Arsenal and pick off set-plays where they can. The Gunners did very well at Chelsea, they should be proud of the way they played and the way they worked hard for each other. Hopefully that's a base for them to work from and it's important they keep that momentum going into this game. I can't look past a home win. PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0 (Sky Bet odds 11/2) Everton v Bournemouth - Saturday, 3pm I was pleased Everton put in a strong display to beat Sunderland in the Carabao Cup - for me they should be aiming for cup success this season. That result should give them a little bit of a boost after the Spurs and Manchester United drubbings and I think they beat Bournemouth. This fixture is the second of four consecutive home games and they need to get on a roll in front of their fans to shake off this poor start to the season. Bournemouth have won two on the spin - against Brighton in league and Carabao Cup - so they may fancy their chances. I even heard one of their players mention Europe. I'm sorry, no. PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0 please log in to view this image Southampton v Man Utd - Saturday, 3pm Southampton produced a big performance at Crystal Palace. They are a funny team, winning that came quite easily after flopping at home to Watford. Their problem is obviously the lack of goals and that will be an issue against a quality team like Manchester United. I've not completely bought into the United hype just yet - people are raving about them but I thought Everton were bang unlucky for 20 minutes at the start of the second half at Old Trafford. In the end United produced a flurry of late goals, like they did against Swansea, and the score looked much better than the game suggested. This is a big test for United but I think they pass it. PAUL PREDICTS: 0-2 please log in to view this image Stoke v Chelsea - Saturday, 3pm Chelsea were poor against Arsenal - bar the Pedro chance they didn't create much - and it just highlighted how much they miss a fully-fit Eden Hazard. This is a match they have to win because they cannot give the two Manchester teams any more of a head-start. If they lose at Stoke and City win, that's a six-point gap in September. I have been disappointed in Stoke this season, the Newcastle game was a bad result. But what really gets me is they lost 2-0 to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup. That's a joke. Stoke aren't going to challenge for the league and they aren't getting relegated. It's another mid-table season. So why not go for it in the cup? It was a shocker. PAUL PREDICTS: 1-3 Burnley v Huddersfield - Saturday, 3pm It should be a really good game. Whichever team wins this match is set-up perfectly for the rest of the campaign. I like the way Huddersfield play. I watched their game against Leicester and for the first half the Foxes didn't know what day it was. The Terriers squeezed and hurried - they tired slightly after the break - but it was very impressive. The only knock is they didn't turn up at West Ham and I think they could be a little Jekyll and Hyde away from home. Burnley have that little bit more Premier League experience and they are very strong at Turf Moor. PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0 please log in to view this image Man City v Crystal Palace - Saturday, 3pm This is Roy Hodgson's sort of match. I was worried about the Southampton fixture when he arrived because he's not very good at setting up teams to win. He's not the type of manager to chase a result. He's more tactical in terms of trying to stop his opposition playing. That's where he is more comfortable, so these three games - against City, Man Utd and Chelsea - are probably more suited. Having said that, City are playing in a different league at the moment. Look what they did to a Watford team that seems pretty good this year. Pep Guardiola's side look irresistible and even if they goal 1-0 down, they just bring on the big guns and go for it. PAUL PREDICTS: 4-0 please log in to view this image Swansea v Watford - Saturday, 3pm That 6-0 defeat at home to City will really knock Watford's confidence. They had been doing alright and were probably thinking, 'we're a good team'. Then all of a sudden they were ripped apart and that will hurt. Swansea got a great result at Wembley but they need to win this game. It's the sort of match they will have highlighted before the season as winnable. The problem is Watford have been good away from home, they have wins at Bournemouth and Southampton already, and they should get a point at the Liberty. PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1 Leicester v Liverpool - Saturday, 5.30pm If Liverpool put their chances away, they win this match and they will need three points because the Manchester clubs are getting away from them already. They were unlucky at the King Power in the Carabao Cup - they dominated the first half - and I think they bounce back with a victory on their return. I can't say they'll keep a clean sheet - their defence is nowhere near good enough - but if they score two that should do the trick. PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2
