So for instance, England pick Kane, Do FIFA and UEFA then ban England from participating?
On the grounds they have an illegible player in their squad.

Surely we are now talking discrimination. He plays in a team that competes in a tournament we don't sanction, so he can't play in our competition.

What if he then moves to another club?
So in June he moves to Getafe on loan. Loan doesn't work out and he comes back to Spurs in August.

Not my own work. A mate nicked it off another site....

I wonder who decided to invite us? I imagine the conversation went something like....

    Perez: Shall we invite Spurs?

Others: Really? Spurs? Do we have to?

Perez: Would you rather have Levy on side or fight him?

    Others: Welcome Spurs!!

Perez: And apparently he can get a discount on paint.

We announced a partnership with them. Then two minutes later the Dulux admin decided to go full on wum mode against Spurs, lol.

rumour has it we’re being sponsored by Ronseal, too.
They’ve accommodated a slight change to their slogan, just for our rival fans to continue the memes.

“it does exactly what it says on the tin...pot”.

Uefa are re-thinking the Euro's venues...

“We have postponed our final decision until on Friday. We have to settle some things from three possible venues who might be excluded.”

The bent bastards giveth...and the bent bastards taketh away.

Alexander Ceferin, UEFA President, has come out and absolutely slammed the ESL clubs. He’s also not happy with Agnelli - who’s daughter he is godfather to, of all things.

Recover the club from the hubris of Irving Scholar to subject it to
owners with the hubris to believe the on-pitch performances of the
past decade warrant membership of a Euro club "super league" !!??

Perhaps the Corona chaos is Nemesis as ENIC deserve.

    From the BBC...

"That was an amazing press conference from Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin.

He started on the offensive and kept going, calling the people responsible for the Super League plans 'liars' and 'snakes'.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was blasted, Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli was accused of walking away from his member clubs.

Ceferin said he will be talking to lawyers tomorrow to see if there is any potential for clubs being thrown out of European competition - five of them are due to play in Champions League or Europa League semi-finals next week - and players being barred from Euro 2020."

So that's why we went along with it...to see Arsenal and Chelsea kicked out of their respective semi-finals and bury the sacking of Mourinho...

The blind arrogance of the whole thing is what gets me. The fact that the 'Big 6' were naive enough to declare that Super Dooper League games would take place midweek, so as to accommodate regular PL matches at the weekend, as if the PL would just merrily go along with a plan that would see it shift irreversibly from (just about) a meritocracy to a fully fledged oligarchy.

The fact that each of the Big 6 announced these plans with all the innocent gusto of someone announcing their engagement, when the immediate backlash from players and fans made clear how ill-judged this is. Either these clubs are so out of touch with their fanbases that they genuinely thought we'd all be turning cartwheels at the news, or they knew we wouldn't but did it anyway.

I can't speak for everyone, but news of Maureen's long overdue sacking barely registered an emotion for me. The Super Dooper League transcends managerial appointments. It strikes at the heart and soul of what the game is meant to be about.

So I've started looking into season ticket prices at Barnet and Orient.

And when the lawyers tell him that FIFA would make mincemeat out of him for trying to dictate who can and cannot play in the World Cup, will he pipe down a touch?

Utd's share price on the US Stock Exchange risen 9.71% today, increasing the capital value of the club by aroung $250M.
There's method in the madness, whether or not this Super League takes off. '
Those with greater knowledge of this financial chicanery seem to think just floating the idea has financial benefits for big clubs, irrespective of whether there is any real intent behind it.

Apparently the Spurs Twitter admin retweeted this and it promptly got deleted. Wonder if more than Jose and his team are getting the chop today...

You're right there. We don't know whether Levy was a moving force behind it, or a realist that understands that we can't afford not to be a part of it if it happens. As you say, it's not just the main finance issue that everyone has been talking about, but the potential loss of games against those leaving for the ESL. Let's not forget that we are the only non-American or Gangster owned club out of the big six. I wouldn't be surprised if the American owners first came up with this idea.

The most flawed aspect of this SL is that these clubs won’t sustain their global fan base and marketability when they are finishing in the bottom half of the league every season. Almost all these clubs have gained a worldwide fan base though success on the field. Even those not dominating their own domestic leagues are still competitive for honours and this sustains interest. Of the transitory, fair weather fans from around.the world the advertisers are targeting, who will stick around to watch a team be an also-ran in a league of big clubs?

It's inevitable that UEFA will cave and agree to something very similar. If we were not in it at the start we won't be in UEFA's version either. As far as I can see nobody has broken any rules yet so there is no risk in signing up and a huge risk in not doing so. UEFA will probably have to exclude at least one of the founder clubs to prove they were not being bullied. If Arsenal win the Europa that might still be us.
