Just a guess.how many points do you think we will get come May.You can also guess position as well.My guess is we will get 48 points at a minimum and 56 tops.So my guess is average 52 points come May.

The record stands at 9 wins, 5 draws and 9 losses... That's 32 points from 23 games..
That's also 1.4 points per game...
Over a 38 game season that would equate to 53 points usually around a top 10 finish, actually in the past 3 years we would have finished 8th, 8th and 9th respectively with that tally...
So i'd say considering the circumstances Garry took over in and this being his first pre-season and season start, bloody good job GM YJB!! Our leader is doing just that!
P.S. In case anyone is wondering about quality of opposition, with GM leading us we have faced Man Utd at Old Trafford, Liverpool at Anfield, Chelsea twice, Arsenal at the Emirates, Everton home and away, Southampton twice, Newcastle twice and Cardiff in the derby in his first game..."
Just to complete his statistical analysis, if under Garry we had played 23 games and picked up 32 points having played those teams, we'd have 15 games left of the season having to play Man City twice, Spurs twice, and United, Arsenal and Liverpool at home. That would leave us 8 games out of the 15 remaining to pick up more points again sides outside of the Top 8.
As Swansea, we're used to being in a good, safe position and then fecking it all up in the last 10 games. I predict that we'll be on track for a 50 point season once again, but will once again flop during the last 10 games to a 43-47 point season. No different to Rodgers in his first season at this level and Laudrup in his first season - we've been unable to ever push on in the last 10 games which is disappointing.

Who knows? We lack consistency in games at the moment so I seriously doubt we'll develop consistency over a season, but then again not many teams do I suppose.
Best guess is mid forties and hopefully that will get us around 10th. I'd be pretty happy with that and I think Monk would too. A decent cup run would be a bonus.

Couldn't get to the game Saturday but heard we were outstanding, very ordinary, poor in parts and lucky by different people who went to the game. All 6 said we lost our shape in the second half, were scrappy, other than the enforced sub of Gylfi changes were meaningless, and we sat back after scoring. The general agreement was Leicester were somewhere between Burnley and WBA but no one quite knew how they didn't score! Which sort of sounds familiar. As I said I wasn't at the game and am going on reports.
What ever - 3 points was essential and we got them -well done team, management and BONY. Any points in the next month will be good but an injury free November would be more welcome IMO.
My predicteromiter doesn't know what to make of this season so far but talking into account teams we've played their position in the league when we played them (form) and where teams ended up at the end of last season ...

at the end of last Oct it was 10 points
Last season the difference between (5th) 6th - 1st is a 7 points
at the end of last Oct it was 4 points
Statistically we are closer to the relegation places than the top of the league (as is Arsenal in 5th)!
We are in a similar position to this time last season but have played 3 games against teams in the top half of the table compared with 5 last year.
Given the way the season is progressing we could see West Ham and Soton in the Champions League places come May, although the same was said of Southampton last year.
Agree mostly with what you say. Just to provide a bit more clarity on one point mentioned in your post - the reports that "no one quite knew how they didn't score" aren't quite representative of the match. The truth is that Leicester never looked like scoring and we marshalled them with apparent ease throughout the match. Then, right at the death, they had one freak chance that led to Cambiasso hitting the post from no more than 3 yards out. So, yeah, even I don't know how they didn't score, but it would not have been like it was deserved (as was the case in previous matches).
The way I look at it is that, currently, we're on 14 points with 9 games gone. That gives us 10 games (until the half way stage of the season) to secure 6 points in order to hit our 20 point quota. As your 46 point prediction agrees, I think we'll find ourselves at least a little above our 20 point target at the half way stage.
I would be more than happy if we had 46pts and in 10th place , + A final in one of the cups say the fa cup for a change.

My points prediction was lower because of the way teams from 18th up are taking points off each other this season so there will be a smaller points range from 5 - 17th than last season. But that's only based on games played so far and everything could start changing from the next series of games.

Should hit the 50+ points mark and finish around the 7th 8th spot.....but who really knows....There are too many if's and but's at the moment to consider.
OK, but how many points do you think we will get over the season. I imagine you're thinking in the 15-18 range, lol.
