    Meanwhile, on the transfer front:

"Sky sports is reporting that Everton are interested in doing a loan deal, with the option to turn that permanent further down the line. However, Norwich are insisting on a permanent deal and value Godfrey at £25m. Unless the Canaries budge on that stance, it is likely that Everton will not pursue any deal to sign Godfrey."

Hardly surprising. Everton are yet another big club hoping to screw us in a loan deal.

It seems like Newcastle were the only club to meet our valuation and not want to tickle our tummies.

Unless we desperately need the revenue then hopefully we can get past the window slamming with our best players at the club.

Loaning our assets to massive clubs to sit on the bench without a guarantee we will get a transfer fee is insulting and counter productive to the players development.

I was disappointed to see that Buendia was not starting on Sunday. However Cantwell's omission from the starting line up did not bother me at all as he has been well below average so far this season , including pre season . And I think it is totally ridiculous to suggest that DF has lost the dressing room because 2 of the higher profile players ALLEGEDLY, want a move to a Premiership club.. And what is so unusual about that ? Players have little loyalty to the clubs they serve , with very few exceptions. When a Premiership club comes sniffing , invariably their heads are going to be turned. Well done to DF in reminding them that it should be a privilege to play for Norwich FC . And even if they do want out, to suggest that it is due to a loss of faith in DF is doubly ridiculous Anybody who watched the game on Sunday, believing that DF has lost the dressing room , cannot be taken seriously . Best game so far this season with plenty of endeavour fromm all concerned.

Totally agree Farke said the club don't owe them anything it's the other way round.
He mentions that these young men are already rich and their families don't need to work thanks to the fans funding their lifestyles .

If players are more interested in texting their agent than training for the next game then someone else will get the nod.

He even said he would rather play the kit man than a player not fully commited to the yellow shirt.

That's good leadership especially with young players who have achieved nothing so far in the game.
Handling ego's is an important skill as a manager and nobody is bigger than the club

So it’s Lewis to Newcastle £15m (done) Cantwell to a Leeds for at least £15m and possibly Godfrey to ? for £25+m. All we need is Buendia to be sold at ? and Aarons to go for ? and that’s it. All the speculation will be over. Sorry, forgot about Pukki now let’s see how does £15m grab you? Could we be looking at at least £80m in total? Is this the Webber plan coming to fruition? I think we have replacements for them all. If not, surely with a very large wedge of cash we could afford to find replacements. Meanwhile we have a match to play on Saturday against a team who have lost all 3 matches and have conceded 8 goals. If we don’t win this one, who should we blame?

I don't understand why no interest in Emi from PL teams? We're seeing some interest in Turkey apparently but what do the PL teams not like? It's not just our yellow tinted specs either. The assist / chances created stats last season were right up there. Is he a luxury player for most PL setups perhaps? I assumed he'd be one of the first out the door when the window opened.

Indeed it is. Some egos, though, appear to be beyond handling. Which is a pity, because talent is a valuable commodity and there's little enough of it for us to appreciate without packing it off for others to enjoy.

The last 4 games haven't filled me with hope.
Just 1 win from one of the worst defensive back passes since Sir Rusty of Martin.

    Because

he's not as good as he or most fans think he is

he gets caught in possession a lot, often in dangerous areas

he's often more interested in waving his hands around in the air and moaning rather than tracking back

    he lacks discipline

    his ego

I think perhaps it's because the role he plays is a little specialised? He only really functions on the right of a 4-2-3-1, with a pacy overlapping RB. And despite the key pass numbers, his xA matched his actual assists - he wasn't creating golden chances which our strikers weren't putting away.

Perhaps he can play at 10, but if you're going to spend £20m+ on a 10, why wouldn't you buy a 10? And if you play with pace from wide areas, he doesn't suit your team.

How many clubs in the Premier League play 4-2-3-1 with a possession based approach, and can afford Buendia?

We plucked Emi from obscurity and he played a key role in our Championship title side.
He was given ample minutes in the Premier League and we were the worst team by quite some distance.
Now he and Tod don't want to slum it in the Championship.
I totally understand that players are lucky to have a career for over 10 years and their main drive is money but football can be very fickle and they may end up without games for years like Hugill and Gibson.

Farke definitely getting frustrated by the rumour and speculation

Goodbye to the Dereham Deco ,I hope Leeds get relegated .<ok>

All this "It's an honour to play in Hoolahan's shirt I hope to emulate his success " bullshit didn't last long .

    Good riddance

A few weeks ago it looked like we were coming through the summer relatively unscathed, and now we're turning down £25m bids from Everton for Godfrey, with Cantwell heavily linked to a move, Buendia not playing because transfer speculation is effecting him, and Bayern still interested in Aarons.

Really hope Webber has his supply of coffee and an extensive contacts list ready to go for the final few days, feel like we could see a frenzied last-minute squad overhaul.
