I may as well start one, it will probably end up on Newsnow. Out of contract Cameroon defender spotted at Nandos Riverside with Webber.
Great name, 14 appearances for the Cameroon national team, can play CB, RB and DM. At 6'4" he'd certainly raise our average height. Let's get this rumour started straight away DD!
By no means am I suggesting the H.M.S. P!ss the League is setting sail; in fact I am no fan of the Norfolk team, but it’s hard to not recognise some seriously well thought out transfer business, and all done swiftly before a sale has been made, the squad now swelling. However, thirty-six players is a high number, and maybe the Canary fan base should begin to expect some departures. https://the72.co.uk/188756/norwich-citys-transfer-activity-is-a-signal-of-intent/
What do people make of Cantwell at the moment? He seems to me to have been really negatively affected by our end of season no-show and resulting relegation.
I've seen several posts on various sites saying we should go for Carter-Vickers. Now, I know virtually nothing about his abilities or style, but at this time there seems to be a queue of zero trying to sign him. Luton have hinted they may be interested after his loan with them last season. At just 6 foot he would not add to the height of our back line, which most will agree is too short.
I always liked Trybull but I don't remember any performances of note last season , Farke certainly has a ruthless streak with players surplus to requirements and likes them young. Bali Mumba played alot of pre season minutes and didn't dissapoint and the lad is only 18 , he wasn't scared to blood the teenage keeper either neither let him down.
Interesting insight into our recruitment methods this window: https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/norwich-city-s-recruitment-strategy-1-6817480 I can never remember a window when so many players came in so quickly.
The only thing I can liken it to are the two Lambert promotion seasons, particularly when we went up to the Prem. I feel like the moment the season was over we got new signings across the line so quickly then - Pilkington and Bennett from memory were early surprises. Probably still didn’t get as many, but it was a good feeling and sticks in the mind. Set us up to stay up comfortably and of course, strangely, neither of those players (nor Lambert!) ever really repeated the successes of that year against the odds. We discussed the professionalisation of Norwich’s recruitment through using data properly at the end of last season, I think. Pukki and Stiepermann were two of the standouts there - Pukki specifically identified based on the types of goals he scores from the types of chances created by Stiepermann and our other creative players. The surprising thing is that not all clubs are doing this. Seems mad.
You could also ask why we took so long to adopt this kind of strategy. Related question: why did it take us so long to adopt the "continental" system of DoF and head coach?
Because it is a foreign concept to the British. Three years after adopting this strategy, how many other clubs in the English football pyramid are also part of this system?
Who needs Liverpool anyway? At least he'd get game time at either of these two. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/l...castle-united-in-pursuit-of-norwich-city-ace/
