That's excellent news if as appears Krul is staying.

Ben Gibson is training with Boro at the moment. He has been since January when he fell out of favour at Burnley, but still, wouldn't rather suggest they're in a strong position to sign him.

Krul undoubtedly draws on his past experience and has decided that at his age he is better off staying in a lovely part of the country only a quick trip away from his homeland. He realises that if he went to a higher Club he would spend the rest of his career sitting on a bench whereas he is guaranteed to be first choice here and I am sure that he is professional enough not to take that for granted and let his form dip.As a general point I do wonder whether the grab for our players will occur especially if other Clubs look at the performances at the end of the season. On paper Lewis seemed the best prospect but has only attracted a derisory offer but the danger will be panic bids from other Clubs towards the end of the transfer window.

The only advantage we have with our talents is the homegrown status that EPL clubs must meet .
A Polish standard Jamal Lewis would fetch about £5m max .
It's not difficult to get in the N Ireland team even Mcveigh and Mulryne managed it possibly Adrian Coote.

Kyle-Peters £12m - Is that the yardstick for young promising British players with limited Premiership experience?

Going to get very interesting when the international window closes (I think!) before the English window. If a Prem team suffer an injury at full back, CB, attacking midfield, late in the window, they're going to have very few options.

I was thinking the same, DH. But with Byram now out, I don't see how we could sell either Lewis or Aarons late in the window. Stieps didn't do well at LB two years ago; and Heise - who knows what's going on there. Do we even have cover for Max, now?

Bali Mumba is going to be used mainly at RB to begin with and Jordan Thomas, who had a brief cameo at ManCity, is also a RB but neither would replace Aarons immediately. At LB there's McCallum and McLean can also cover there but again, neither would replace Lewis immediately .

That was the point I was trying to make. No experienced players who can go straight in, that we know of. I didn't know McLean could play LB. I'm not Kenny's biggest fan but that might be a good place for him.

Ben Godfrey made his first few appearances in the cup at RB and Thompson came on at RB against Ipswich I think

I think if we're serious about a strong Championship campaign, we can't be relying too heavily on wildly inexperienced or out-of-position players for a significant chunk of the campaign.

That said, the domestic window is open until mid-October, so we should have a good idea of his return timeframe before the window closes. But yes, we need to either proactively sign another RB to be able to take the late bids for Aarons, or be prepared to overpay ourselves and disrupt squad preparation with a late addition. Byram+Thomas does not fill me with confidence for a season. (Although Aarons was 3rd choice RB 24 months ago I guess...)

There's a suggestion that the new kit will be unveiled along with a new signing tomorrow. TalkNorwichCity look like they're very keen to let people know they have insider info...

Michael Bailey has just dropped a strong hint that the "sensible transfers" article he wrote with Tifo contains some remarkable foresight....

...which makes me think one of the players they suggest is a potential Norwich signing....

    ...and they suggested Ben Gibson.

Gibson also cropped up in Conor Southall's Jacob Murphy story:

"Burnley defender Ben Gibson remains their top centre-back target as they plot their Championship assault. The Canaries are also looking to add to their striking ranks prior to the end of the window."

    Interesting on both counts.
