There are no career jobs anymore anywhere, over 600 youngsters applied for just 15 city council apprenticeship jobs this year so that puts to bed the myth that kids don't want to work... Even working people are slowly being dragged into poverty and all the governments can do is give tax breaks to the rich at the expense of the poor....this government is so corrupt that they don't care about you or me about anything just as long as they get their whack. ONe tory minister said that he should get more than a £10,000 pay rise as its not enough to live on,,,If he cant live on a basic salary of £73,000 then how the hell can the people he is suppose to represent who cant find a decent paid job feels like.....the answer is they don't care and never will.....With the money we give away each day would make every family in the UK live very comfortable. for example every single day we pump £53 Million into brussels which is the highest of all the countries in the EU...We spend millions on foreign aid while our own peoples living standards are dropping each and every day at an alarming rate....The Mp's own standard of living has gone up and will continue to go up as most of it is through the back door where you and i wont notice. they earn just as much and some more in expenses than their annual wage....Its one Big gravy train at the expense of the working class...

I seem to remember the 600 youngsters after the 15 apprenticeships Dai, but you have the measure of what we have running this country, I'm just hoping that a large tsunami will hit London one day, and I'm around to see it!..............<ok>

I've had a complaint lads. It claims this is a personal threat. I'm sure I've warned aberlude about this before. Therefore I'm applying a ban until such time your community mods can come and explain to me what is going on.

Some interesting thoughts on here, haven't read all of them (just the 1st 3-4 pages).
It reminds me of the old adage 'If you don't vote Socialist in your 20's you have no heart, if you don't vote Conservative in your 40's you have no brain' (wrongly attributed to Mr. Churchill)

Anyway it's nothing new to have governments make choices that rile people up, the case in point being the original article. It's the illusion of choice that irritates me. Labour, Lib-Dem and Tory. All based around the centre ground. All with dreadful records depending what facet you look at.
We have no real voice, no real power. Keir Hardie would be mortified by the current Labour party.

I studied politics and here is the weird thing; I now don't vote. It's not a vote wasted it's a spoiled ballot paper. A protest.
Our parties are just the product of their environment. Until Westminster changes neither will the parties.

    Indeed they do.
There seems to be no major uprising/groundswell for change brewing (along the lines of the labour movement becoming politically sophisticated at the tail end of the Victorian era).
Nothing will change, as the best thing the current system has achieved (for itself at least) is fragmentation among the voting people.
Young people don't care anymore, older people tend to vote along "I/my family have always voted this way" lines. Both groups have been fed a mistrust of each other and then there is the whole range of other reasons to dislike a group of people (race, religion etc).
Divide and conquer, then give the people just three (well 2 and a half <whistle>) centre ground options to vote for (just so they don't do anything radical).

Sorry went off on one then...

If you vote for Lib/Lab/Con then it's a wasted vote. They all lie in the middle of the spectrum. Hardly any difference in policy. Democracy in Britain is a farce. With the added PC brainwashing of the youth and the intellectually challenged coupled with media bias, I'm afraid to say this county is doomed.

Some of the stuff I've been finding out that our government and the BBC has been hiding with really shock you. To the point that if everyone in the country knew the truth there would be an uprising.

That's what is needed. It doesn't have to be violent. It just needs intent and will...

    ... and majority....

There will never be a majority, it's too late. Soon as you speak up you are labelled a racist, soon as you protest you have the government sponsored UAF thugs undermining and threatening you. There is a tipping point, I thought that Lee Rigby being murdered in the streets would at least give Britain some back bone to rise up. But no, something will be a catalyst.

This slow methodical invasion of Britain and the degradation of our culture reminds me of a scene in Jaws.
Hooper says to Vaughn the Major. "Uh, I think that I am familiar the fact that you are going to ignore
this particular problem until it swims up and bites you in the ass!"
