Tbh, they probably ask him questions designed to provoke a quoteable response just to try and make "news".
In a league full of foreigners whose grasp of the finer nuances of English is tenuous it's easy for journos to pick up on anything and turn it into whatever they want.

Given the source and the fact that the quotes have all been made previously then I doubt that any interview actually took place.

Guillem Ballague has claimed via his twitter account that Torres hasn't said any of what was published.

No, it's the Guillem Ballague from Chipping Sodbury. Very reliable source.

    only a few points.

    1. torres can say what he likes, he'll find out every trip to anfield that UNLIKE those he metioned he'll get no welcome.

    2. the prue irony in his statement about chelseas potential is interesting. Looking at their squad it doesn't seem TODAY (windows not closed) that they have a very balanced or energetic squad. they've lost a lot of players just like we did (eg ballack carvalho) so i just find his comments ironic.

    3. looking at torres record, overall... we all know his value to a team. athletico knew that too. but we must set 2008 in some sort of context now. he blew the prem away in his first year as an unknwon quantity. he is a great header of the ball. but socre 30+ goals this year? i guess we'll see.

Torres is simply trying to endear himself to the chelsea fans, lets face it he hasn't exactly set stamford bridge alight so far.

Let him say what he wants, all he's doing is showing his ignorance.

In My humble opinion, he regrets leaving us and would like to come back.

i think he realised this the minute he left - will never admit it though - he sounds like he is trying to convince himself that he did the right thing by moving

wants to come back... thats hilarious.

the guy may be talking up the chelsea end but my point still stands where is chelsea's 500mil squad all of a sudden. Great first team but a few injures and they are bearely top 4 based o nthe replacement swho come in.

Wanting to come back... funny.... the guy will get some shock when chelsea come to anfield. that i will predict. All the guys going o nabout can't remember him and the guys who talk baout despising him now have something in common... everyone o nthat day will be on his back all game.

torres verses hyypia or alonso.... torres will never sit in a seat at anfield as a guest! the only seat he'll get is on chelsea's subs bench when he gets ahuled off.

it goes to show that despite being excellent for LFC, the real lifeblood of the club are players like gerrard and carragher, as well as the fans. people like gerrard and henderson will still be giving their all in 5 years time wheares people like suarez will have come and gone by then i bet <ok>

Personally I hope when Chelsea visit Anfield we pay Torres no attention at all, no boos, no songs, nothing. We should sing nothing but the Suarez song whenever he touches the ball (or more likely, when he's warming up on the sidelines waiting to come on)
