Yeah, like the hiring of Konchelsky was the answer to any team's footballing problems.... I remember watching him four years earlier when he played for West Ham at Elland Road and he was a ****ing disgrace then. Imagine my horror when the news broke of his imminent arrival at LFC. Still shocking to think about it. GKRK

Conversation that I recall is prob from around October last year when a lot of people were beginning to get antsy with Rodgers.

Think he had legit stats... Rodgers did have a very poor start with us... but it was under difficult circumstances.

What saved Rodgers was that he adapted... changed his style. I think if Rodgers was set in his ways like Roy and didn't adapt our season would have been a bigger disaster.

Rodgers is still manager because he adapted... had a great January and seems to be finally on track.

Roy would never have adapted in my opinion.

Rodgers could possiblyone day become a great. Roy wouldn't in 100 years... of course he'd be dead then... but that aside...

For the record... I actually quite respected mfg. Sure he was a little too critical of Rodgers (but then... I was unsure of Rodgers for a while too).

Despite his dislike of Rodgers he was actually quite knowledgeable and a good poster... wish he hadn't left.

Torres was in world class form up to the day Rafa left

It all went Pete tong that summer with the national side and then Roy tried to ruin him

The problem being, Liverpool fans are actual football fans, and Woy's football is just plain ugly. Hou started out being a bit defensive while we built morale, but, even when we were defending, we still moved forward with one or two people, while Woy never let anyone go more than 10 yards into the opposition half.

It's like Liverpool being Snow Patrol fans, and Woy rolled out Rod, Jane and Freddy from Rainbow, it was just insulting. Nothing to do with H&G, this was just, and still is Woy's bland, boring and woeful style of football.

  10. MFG hates FSG more than Rodgers. He hasn't left the forum either, he just can't show up ATM because we are playing well and top of the league, criticism of the owners and manager at this point would be too silly, even for MFG <laugh>

A few of us believe MFG is on one long and massive wum, I'm not sure anyone could support a club they clearly dislike so much <laugh>

Disagree. Torres was poor in the 2009-10 season. He got the goals (22 in 32 games) but his body language was already different and he no longer worked as hard for the team. He had also started arguing with the officials a lot more by then, the smile he played with had long gone. IMO, Torres was pissed off about us selling Alonso <ok>

I like MFG. Despite disagreeing with nearly everything he says he's knowledgeable about football and is a voice of negativity when everyone is overly confident.

Don't know if he's a WUM though, I once had a small spat with him. He seems as if he knows too much about the club to be a WUM.

As for Hodgson I couldn't believe it. The style of play made a 4-0 victory bland and boring. How?

Mmm. Liverpool have won 3 matches out of three at the start of the season. A bit premature ?... :)

I wouldn't say many of us were over confident- just some of us are optimistic. Perhaps a bit over-optimistic, but the way I see it there's nothing wrong with that.
I can't see the point in following the game if you're going to be miserable about it all the time.

Talking of greatness - even possible greatness- seems a bit early at this stage... Just IMO of course. :)

I think you're taking him out of context and changing the meaning of his post.
All he's saying is that whilst it's not beyond the realms of possibility that BR may one day be great, RH never could be, in his opinion.
He wasn't banging the drum for Rodgers, just pointing out the hopelessness of having Hodgson in charge.
    Imo.
