Welcome to Top Tipster Challenge.

ENTRY NOW CLOSED on this thread

Entries up to date are;
........32

This is not a “guess the score” of a match but simply forecast the RESULT of all the Championship games played on a weekend over the season. Each team has a points target based on the rough ODDS of success. (like betting).

The object of the game is to demonstrate your skill over a longer period against fellow tipsters.

Bonus points are awarded for 8 or more correct results

HOW TO ENTER

You have to select the results of the following matches and you collect the POINTS allocated for each team chosen if you are correct.

POINTS allocated are alongside each team. You get the points , home , away or draw, if you correctly forecast the result.
BONUS points are awarded for getting 7 or more correct.
League tables of the leading “Tipster” will be posted after every week throughout a normal competition.

Abbreviations are obviously team names and MUST be used in entry.
If you are not sure of team CODES please refer to any fixture list. You will get used to the CODES, most are clear who they are.

Home team CODES are on the left with the points allocation, AWAY teams on the right

Matches for W/End 6 August

ALL DRAWS ARE WORTH 3.5 pts

( 2.2 ) HUL v BLK ( 2.8 )
( 1.9 ) BRG v DNC ( 3.5 )
( 2.1 ) BRS v IPS ( 3.0 )
( 1.9 ) BUR v WAT ( 3.4 )
( 2.9 ) COV v LEI ( 2.2 )
( 2.9 ) DRB v BIR ( 2.2 )
( 1.9 ) MDL v POR ( 3.6 )
( 1.5 ) NTF v BAR ( 5.0 )
( 2.1 ) PTB v CRY ( 2.9 )
( 1.8 ) RDG v MLW ( 3.8 )
( 2.4 ) SOU v LDS ( 2.6 )
( 1.7 ) WHU v CDF ( 3.9 )

METHOD OF ENTRY.

The competition is run on a spreadsheet and it is very important that entries are ACCURATE.

Please ONLY use the team CODES e.g.

DRB if you say Derby will win. No numbers are required.
If you think MLW (Millwall) will win just put in MLW
You do not have to put any numbers in at all
.

IMPORTANT for DRAWS you must put the HOME TEAM code in followed by an X.
No more the 8 draws can be posted due to spreadsheet limits.

eg. For SOU to DRAW all you need put in is SOUX.

Do not use AWAY team name for any draws, they will not be counted.

If you have a long USERNAME please abbreviate it to around 10 to 12 characters

SAMPLE ENTRY: (starting with your abbreviated username where needed and please do not use all CAPITAL letters for your username.
Please enter forecasts in the same game order. Your entry should look like the following with no fullstops etc.

POST YOUR ENTRIES (at least 2 hours before any kick off)

It might appear a bit long winded but it is very simple once you get the idea.

To get the ball rolling here is my first entry in an attempt to win my own game <whistle>

All future entries should be like the following, with your own forecasts ofcourse !!!

No numbers, full stops, smileys etc it mucksup the spreadsheet and wont be accepted.

iF YOU CAST YOUR MIND BACK THE FIRST DAY SPRINGS MANY SURPRISES NORWICH getting beat 7-1 at home Reading losing at home to ScunnyLeeds GETTING BEAT BY DERBY who went on a did the double against us this needs rectifying this season.I feel that although Leicester have spent vast amounts of money the race will be much closer than people think with the evemtual winner not getting above 90 points I have reflected this on your other site DAVE

Sorry billyboy...... Computer says "NO" for your entry

Please loook at previous posts, especially No 7

I cannot copy your entry unless it fits the spreadsheet, which then scores your entry.

It has to be the same as No. 13, and No.14 which are OK.

Cheers

Please re-submit.

leeds60. Sorry not this year...3 games is enough for me. Virtual Bookies will be launched sometime on Thursday
I have added this new game, Top Tipster and thats my lot. They are designed to take most of the calculations away from me and make it easy to run.

Most of the work is just COLLECTING the entries and then sorting out the results to post league tables.

Good start for entries. Nine in the first day.
A few entries could not be used because of wrong codes and spacing.

I repeat the way to do it:

Please put your team name at the top of your entry followed STRAIGHT away by your CODES in CAPITAL LETTERS.
No Spaces. It means I can copy/paste straight in the space on my spreadsheet.
