Right wize......I'm not poking fun but remember you're Bristol City. No recent record of success at the highest level.
Supposedly you have to sell to buy, proposals for a new stadium are stalling, and your ex-chairman is keeping
remarkably silent and his pockets buttoned up. Your attendances are low by Championship standards, and your fans notoriously fickle.
Most of the people you mention are waiting for a lower Premier vacancy to come along, or are quite happy to wait awhile.
Men like O'Neil and Hughes would need a huge inducement.
Tisdale has the City connections, but that can cut either way. Davies seems to always blow it along the way.
Lennie Lawrence is a one-off but a set up like the one with Trollope might be the way.
There's always Bobby Gould !

Oh, to answer your question.............Grant or Tisdale.

How can a gashead call anyone fickle, it's beyond me.

What do you mean Lan? there was 5042 at The Minimal last week <laugh>

I'll have you know it was 5065 ! And then 5640 on Saturday, the highest in L2 and more than a 10% improvement !

'How can a gashead call anyone fickle,' .....easy, just did, as the 'kids'would say!

Ner ner ner ner nerrrr!

I apologise for the slur on the best fans in the universe. 23 fans is a sizeable number to get wrong and would of course provide much needed valuable revenue for a semi pro club like yours <ok>

Too right...factor in the money spent by those 23 on pies and you have a not inconsiderable amount !

Getting back to the Q, frankly Wiz, don't really fancy the ones that may be available which aren't that many really because;-

Alan Curbishley - undoubtedly a respected character but has made it very clear that he is only interested in the premier league

Alan Shearer - not interested in anything other than Newcastle (and not even that whilst Ashley is in charge)

Gareth Southgate - no, NEVER. Talks a great game but not really a character that I or players would respect when the going gets tough...

Mark Hughes - much as though I would very much like this, couldn't see it happening

Paul Ince Notts - possiblity but managerial track record suggests ok at up to league one

Rafa Benitez - the biggest clown in football, EVER. Absolutely no interest in domestic football whatsoever, only CL as Liverpool found to their considerable cost with a string of very expensive and useless players, Torres the only exception...

Roy Keane - would be exactly the right sort of character that I am looking for to grab this club by the scruff of the neck and drag it forward but unrealiable..?

Martin O’Neill - very passionate and has a history of seeing through his projects, would be great IF respected but the worrying bit is the way that Hansen and Lineaker clearly thought he was nuts and took the piss when he was a pundit for the world cup in SA

Gianfranco Zola - respected character no doubt but admitted to running out of ideas at West Ham, would get us playing football again though

Avram Grant - apparently inspired great loyalty in players but not for me, too downbeat...

Still thinking about my best candidate - need an unknown, a young Mouriniho type spotted before fame and glory...

First a serious point, then a bit of mischief making !
Nobody seems to have mentioned Aidy Boothroyd. He had great success at Watford and didn't do badly at Colchester.
Coventry didn't go so well but I think he's the sort of manager you can hope to attract, with the sort of
experience you need.

I see on Sky today Steve Coppell was talking about feeling ready to return to football. Time to forgive and forget ?
Interestingly he said that things went on at City which he has not spoken about and will not.
Whatever can he mean ? Do the initials CS have any bearing ?

I think Dave Penney or Tisdale would be the best option for you as none of the others would even consider managing you lot. You couldn't pay their wages anyway.

Mark Hughes <laugh> keep smoking that funny stuff lads <ok>

arsene wenger might be after a job soon . rosenior out there who i think could do well in the short term until the end of season when we get new permanent manager
