Pearson with a full season has yet to do worse than a season before. Saved Southampton (at our expense ironically) 1st stint at Leicester league 1 champions Championship Playoffs best win ratio of any permanent manager. Hull Full season 11th 2nd season left them higher up Leicester 3/4 season 9th 2012/13 season ... <insert improved league position here> ...
I cant understand there is no mention of Birmingham? they have made a couple of good signings. My top 6 are 1.Bolton 2. Birmingham 3. Cardiff 4. Boro 5. Wolves 6. Leic/Charlton/Hull/Leeds or more its so close. I think our midfield will struggle again, but im hoping Drinks, Marshall, Danns & the french fella gel and have a full season as our back ups are not up to much.
For me alot could depend on what type of Richie Wellens returns. If we get last season we wont get in the team but if we get the real Richie Wellens then we have a great chance of pushing on for the top 2
I'm hoping Drinkwater/James can step up so we won't need much from him. He was awful for most of last year. I think he'll struggle to get back in the side if they do well.
Wellens will be on the bench all season IMO. Can see NP using Danns and King as 1st choice but with 3 games a week most weeks Drinkwater and James will see their fair share of action
Wellens has a part to play as a deep laying playmaker - his range of passing is brilliant. Some of the time at least...
Top Post Proud, However I thnk Nige wll now start with RW on the the bench, period ! He wll be a super sub to bring on for that final defence splitting ball/holding MF....the very reason NP bought him from Donny during his 1st stint with us...was quality was'nt he ?
Errrrmmm, without wanting to offend,ur talking Tosh ! Yakubu (sven) curtis davies (sven, loan ) pva (sven loan ) bruma (sven ?) beckford (sven) nugent (sven) schemeichel (sven) Infact pretty much the rest apart from....**** it there all sven signings(some quality too !) Running, are you a Troll, or just pssed or both ? lol
Without beating my own drum, I need to make this thread perm for season, just for reference to look back & see how good we all are/not at beng wanna be pundts or just to remind posters not to give up their day job (me)...lol
This season will, without question, be his best opportunity to get promotion to the Premier league. He'll have a full season and plenty to spend, so if he does fail to make the top six this year, I for one will hold my hands up and say he isn't the manager I thought he was. I suspect I won't need to though...
Mark Davies will be sold shortly I expect. I think the relegated teams will struggle this season. Wolves have a foreign manager, big squad changes and not familiar with the Championship. Bolton have an ageing squad, some decent players, but nothing the Championship sides will be concerned with. Blackburn have a decent squad, but a plankton of a manager. The three promoted sides all look genuine promotion candidates decent squads, making some shrewd additions...I think Wednesday could be the dark horses, but Hudds have made some quality additions too. Then the rest of the Championship most around the top half have made some really decent signings, any supporter will want their club to challenge at the top, too hard to call for me!
Wolves Cardiff Birmingham Bolton Charlton Hull Just a prediction off the top of my head. Think Leicester will probably improve on last season but not enough to win promotion. Cardiff have a very good squad now, and Wolves seem to be holding onto their best players- think they may be the surprise package.
Think James is going to HAVE to be a big player for us. Know nothing about him and only seen him once in preseason, but surely he is going to have to be the defensive midfielder with grit. A lot rests on him IMO
