The difference is, I live in Nottingham, and I know all that bull about not caring about us is not true. For a start, Forest have a chant of "we hate Derby, we hate Leicester". Never heard any reference to Hull in all the years (four) I lived in South Yorkshire. They though of you simply as Humberside. <ok>

You may be right Scarborough, I lived in Yorkshire in the 1990s. Maybe back in the 1970s there may have been something, but it's fizzled out now. My family tell me about Leicester's vicious rivalry with Wolves in 1960s, but I don't feel anything for them now.

I would have thought Grimbsy and Scunthorpe would be your rivals. Similar size clubs with similar histories in the same part of the country.

Do we have a rivalry against Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield United ? Not really

Do we have a rivalry against Huddersfield or Bradford ? Not really

Do we have a rivalry against Doncaster ? Sort of but again, not really.

Do we have a rivalry against Leeds ? Yes, a fairly big one.

That's so factually incorrect, it's embarrassing, you know when you laugh at Charlies post on here, well you just did a great impersonation.

And Charlie, who have no idea who our traditional rivalries are with, your about six, but take it from me, what you've posted above is complete bollocks.

The point is that geographically and historically we are not rivals with Hull.If it was not for the NP factor we would not give a monkeys about each other. In my youth it was always the trees as rivals. It later went to Derby as well but that is it.Some of the stuff on here is funny, but most of it should stay in the play ground.

    going back in time...

Every season when the fixture list came out we would look for city v the two Sheffield Clubs and City v Sunderland and Middlesborough .. Often Hull became a war zone when we played those clubs ..

    Rivals and Hate..

Charlie we never hardly played Leeds United so there wasnt the same rivalry in times gone by though many of us didn't like Leeds .. Nearly everyone at School ' supported ' bloody Leeds...and that was in Hull !!!!

<laugh> Seriously, nobody in Hull gives a **** now, it was almost a year ago and it's never mentioned, other than by Leicester fans.

Personally, I'd rather have Barmby than Pearson or Bruce and I remain disappointed that he didn't get more of an opportunity.

    Look mr Walsh,

Not everyone even had a problem in the first bloody place..

NP got a big offer and he jumped at it .

    Can't blame him really.

    It's football and stuff happens.

Loads of Hull City fans realise NP left us with a better team and some of our best players in years .

I would like things to go good for NP in return for the good he did at Hull City.

Be great IF we both get promotion..

Course I didn't like how NP just walked without saying anything but that's life .

It's a myth that we all Hate NP..

Chester , Koren ,Stewart , etc all at Hull City thanks to Nigel and his staff.

That post couldn't have been more wrong

    1) You got the age wrong by quite a long way
    2) How come we get bigger attendances against Leeds then all the other clubs?
    3) How come all of our fans hate Leeds so much and were so happy when there takeover fell through?

The rivalry with Leeds is a county rivalry, just the same as the Sheffield Clubs, Barnsley, 'Uddersfield, Donny Rovers etc etc. We have had rivalries with a few of them in the past, but they've died down in more recent times. Me along with a few Tigers fans will probably remember the rivalry with Sheffield United when they Promotion instead of us whilst former Tiger Keith Edwards played for them.

The fairly obvious ones for me are Scumthorpe, Grimsby and York. Humberside derbies and York has always been a centre of hooliganism IMO.

The Leicester/Hull rivalry was made up by people such as WalshNo5 who insist that City fans are still sour about Pearson leaving when nobody over here really cares as he did a fairly good job despite his lack of charisma, willingness to speak to the fans and media and military style team set up. He brought in the likes of Koren, Stewart, Chester, Fryatt so no complaints from the job he did. Just the manner in which he left which is hard to comprehend.

Charlie in the days of real rivalry and hate at Football we never really played Leeds United as they where almost always a league or 2 above us ( or 3 )

    Hence the lack of rivalry.

The biggest attendance thing is often because Leeds bring so many supporters.

Sensitive are we? I guess the truth hurts! Which bits are "factually incorrect" mr. knowitall? Among the people I hung around with at Uni were ****loads of Leeds, Sheff Wed and Barnsley fans, a fair few Bradford fans, a couple of Donny fans, a couple of Rotherham fans and a Sheff Utd fan. We were all footy mad and used to go to games together and watches matches at the pub. I never, in four years, heard any reference to Hull being rivals to any of those clubs. Bradford hated Leeds, Leeds hated Man U, the Rotherham and Barnsley fans hated the Sheffield clubs, and they hated each other. They'd probably look at you how we look at Peterborough. They think they are our rivals. But they're not in our eyes.

So apart from the reference to Humberside (which I know winds you up), what is factually inaccurate?

Sorry, I didn't realise you'd met a couple of people from Yorkshire at Uni, that would obviously make you an expert and I take it all back. My experience just comes from attending numerous games, if I'd gone to Uni, I'd probably have a better perspective.

In general terms, the Leeds rivaly is one sided and is based on a historic hatred for the East Yorkshire Whites, rather than the club themselves(though they're very much a dying breed now). Our historic rivalries are those that Super Tiger has mentioned, though suggesting that there is no rivalry between us and steel city clubs half an hour up the road is simply incorrect.

And Charlie, almost every club gets their biggest attendance against Leeds, they have the biggest away support in the league.
