Tops Refs or should I say the more Experienced Refs and why we don't seem to get a fair share of them from the PGMOL Anthony Taylor, Mike Dean, Martin Atkinson, Andre Mariner, Michael Oliver, Jonathan Moss are what i would class as the most 'Experienced' obviously we can't have Michael Oliver or Jonathan Moss but it still leaves 4 of them below is a list of the teams and how many games they have had, what I would call the more 'Experienced ref' referee their games after 13/14 games Liverpool 12 Leicester 11 Man Utd 16 Everton 12 Chelsea 8 Tottenham 7 Southampton 9 Man City 15 Aston Villa 8 West Ham 8 Wolves 11 Newcastle 4 Crystal Palace 10 Leeds 12 Arsenal 13 Burnley 12 Brighton 8 Fulham 10 West Brom 13 Sheff Utd 10 can you spot the difference ? how can that be a fair rotation of refs The Premier League fund the PGMOL and it could be seen as the PL's way of handing Newcastle a bum steer regarding the more experienced refs Var has taken away a lot of the guess work on goals and offsides I know, but it never stops the refs making bad decisions in the build up the quality of game is also affected by refs giving cheap freekicks near 18 yard box or booking a player for a less serious tackle than it may have looked Andre Mariner a prime example of this at the recent Fulham v Liverpool game denying Fulham a clear penalty even with var Needless to say, Andre Mariner is in charge of Newcastle's trip to Man City for the Sky, Boxing day annual thumping - be prepared for iffy decisions Anthony Taylor only refereed us once in the Premier League last season and that was on the last day 1 in 38 games home and away (although he did ref the WBA Cup game- but that was not in the League) just an observation
Don't worry he won't need to overturn a penalty for us as we won't be going into their box. The biased decisions for the big 6 has been a thing for years, never going to change unfortunately!
not worried about us getting into the opposition half really it's just the disproportionate allocation of refs by the PGMOL who are bankrolled by the Premier League
yes we are, but this is our first this season and we resort back to Paul Tierney for the Liverpool game then back to Robert Jones v Leicester who just reffed us v Brentford - twice in 4 games ???? Rob Jones has only reffed 2 premier games before and only gets 1 match per month so I would say he has very limited experience
the extra pens this season have come from VAR where they can't dispute it the crap decision making during the game is not open to var like the amount of cheap free kicks given against us just out side the penalty area
Just a few comments on todays game Leeds v Burnley ref Robert Jones the same ref we had v Brentford and returns for our home game against Leicester within 2 weeks This is an example on how inexperienced refs get so many decisions wrong yet we never see these refs referee the Cartel 6 because the PL know they are ****e Leon Osman Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live The referee blew before the ball went into the goal and that's the biggest mistake he made. The turn and finish from Ashley Barnes was incredible - a half volley on the swivel. If the referee had waited they could have reviewed it with VAR. Theo HV: Goalkeeper runs out, clatters Burnley player and gets the decision. Barmy decision from the referee. Graham Rowley: That was an absolutely shocking decision from the referee. James Lockwood: Burnley really hard done by with that foul on the Leeds keeper, never a foul and the goal should have stood, goalies are way too protected. Lesley Keech: As a Leeds fan, I can say Burnley were robbed there. Goalie came out to the player, not the other way around, it should have been called a foul against Meslier. Goal should have stood. MJC1973: I'm not a Burnley fan but the ref has seriously let them down twice so far. It was not a penalty and how was that a foul on keeper? If anything it was the other way. Not seen this ref before but he has made two howlers already. Jon Evans: Awful from the ref disallowing that goal. If anything it was a foul on Mee with a knee in his back. I thought the refs were meant to wait before blowing up in that situation? Meant VAR couldn't intervene. Ref standards have plummeted since VAR was introduced.
