I made no prediction, I merely thought his prediction was very bold given the current state of play and what previous history tells us about the CL credentials of both clubs. Not satisfied with that, he picked their replacement to boot i.e. Liverpool. If I were to challenge the accuracy of his prediction then the odds would be in my favour. You should understand the difference between making a prediction and laying a bet.............

Touché <laugh>

Admit it tobes. you had issues as he predicted Liverpool to finish in the top 4. He said any other club you wouldn't have given a **** <whistle>

Yeah lad, I'd have said he was spot on if he'd have been predicting United miss out and West Ham or Spurs got in there. Well spotted.

So you think Chelsea or Man Utd missing out to ANY other team is a ridiculous claim. Therefore, by process of elimination, you're predicting the same top four as last year [HASHTAG]#tooearlytopredict[/HASHTAG]

Unless, of course, you think Everton will get top four <laugh>

Don't put words in my mouth, as I never said anything of the sort. He was intimating that I only piped up because he'd chosen Liverpool as the replacement.

@Tobes

If he's simply said one of Chelsea or Man Utd won't finish top four, how would you have responded?

His prediction that one of the big 2 mentioned would miss out combined with predicting the club that would replace them made the odds of what he was predicting long. The fact it was Liverpool, was irrelevant.

mmm, piss easy fixtures like City and Chelsea away......gotcha <ok>

And once we've done that, we have all the traditional top 6 (excluding is obviously) at anfield from then on... Could be a big advantage in 2nd half of the season.

Not from me. For some it's probably because we have no proper recent rivalry with Arsenal. Utd is self-explanatory, we had the CL matches with Chavs, the 'ghost goal' and all the other acrimony, and with City people don't like them bcos of the money and a feeling they've bought their way to the top. Plus we were fighting the latter two for the title in 2013/14.

But unlike Chav supporters, at least City fans aren't as arrogant and realise things could easily go "belly=up" They are City after all.

Very much at the back of all City supporter's minds is the all too real proposition / vision of the Etihad being repurposed as a carpark ?? and Championship football at a much reduced new gaffe down in Stockport where they serve Bovril and use the teabags twice

United, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Everton, Stoke, Spurs.. Gone away to all them teams now with City on the horizon, if we get some momentum going in to the second half of the season we'll be there or thereabouts with the big away games done with.

Didn't see the game so, as impressive as the result was, I can't make any kind of judgement on how Liverpool have improved since last week.

But I'd still class us as outsiders to be honest. We have a lot of talented players but theres still a question mark over the consistency of most of them. Plus I don't think we'll see the best of Liverpool under Klopp until he's able to add some geniune width . To be fair, the full backs are doing a good job of providing width but the way I see it, we may see a lot of "high risk high reward" football until Klopp brings in another geniune winger.

Might be an unusual top 4 this year.

City is definitely in. Arsenal are almost certainly in.

Other than them is anyone's guess. Wouldn't at all surprise me if Spuds and Pool take 3rd and 4th now.
