Evening guys & gals and a Happy New Year to all.

From my perspective (as a Leeds fan) there are 4 virtual certainties for the top 6...

WBA
Leeds
Fulham
Brentford

Which means there are still two places up for grabs.

Seems to me that since you appointed Harris there's been a real upturn and he'll definitely have you there or thereabouts.

So much so, I'm going to predict that you make it, with the final place going to Forest.

Good luck for the rest of the season and would happily take a point when we come down to your place in March.
Well done today, you took your chances brilliantly and deserved the win.

Top 6 is now there for the taking if you're good enough.

Thanks for saying we actually did deserve the win - now explain it to Shaks and Chesh please. :emoticon-0105-wink:

With Preston away next weekend, you could say that top 6 is in our own hands, but there'll be few twists and turns yet to come over these last 8 games.

What's it going to take to get some posters on this forum?

A great, even unexpected win against Leeds yesterday and eff all from our 606 posters about it or anyhting else for that matter.

Leeds forum is awash with comments despite their defeat - FFS someone say something!

Hello :emoticon-0109-kiss:

Great result if not performance. Excellent goals.

For me it was just like watching a Warnock team. Soak it up and try and hit on the break. Work the no.9 to a standstill while creating little around him.

Much improved when NML and Glatzel came on but the game was opening up then.

Leeds, apart from 2 glaring defensive errors, played relatively well but totally ineffective up front.

How the hell has Bamford scored 13 this season? A total fish out of water yesterday.

Despite all that a win is a win. On to one of our bogey grounds at Preston. A win would be great but a draw won't be the end of the world.

Need to back that result up if we want the playoffs.
A difficult time when anything can happen.

The division STILL shows why it’s so unpredictable after the last round of games.

How will we go at PNE? Not our favourite ground that’s for sure. I recall the home game was terrible. I expect similar tactics from Harris ie sit back and use our wingers pace to break,

It’ll be interesting to see if he starts the same X1. NML didn’t look like he has 90 minutes in him. Tomlin likewise possibly.

I suspect he’ll pick same starting X1 with Glatzel again on the bench as maybe PNE will suit Paterson more.

Another strange set of results beckons!

I said I would be happy with 4 points from our first 2 games I think if we can come away with something from Preston 3 points would be very nice but I would not be unhappy if it was a draw.Harris will use the same tactics as the Leeds game ,to late to change the system at this stage of the season and he proves it works.Just saying.

We need the "home team hoodoo" to strike again this coming weekend. We're away this time whilst Brentford, Preston, Swansea, Derby, Bristol and Forest are all at home.

A draw at Preston would be good enough to stop them getting away from us again, but if we can pinch all 3 points it'll be down to us to throw the playoff spot away.

Its where utilisation of the squad will come to the fore. Some teams will have one or two good results with the same team then the legs will go and they'll have little back up.
Being able to rotate players and having a strong bench will be invaluable.
This is where Harris earns his corn. Getting into the playoffs is one thing, being able to put out your strongest team, fresh, in the playoffs is something else.
I feel our squad will allow us to do that.
Harris has a pretty good hand dealt him, its to him to play that hand to give the best result.

I only followed the match through the internet with BBC so can't rally comment on players and how it went. but it looks like a solid defence and two lucky breaks!! Then again, lucky breaks/mistakes will always come and the trick is to make the most of them. I get the feeling that we are more a solid side with flashes of inspired play from almost anyone in the team...…..our mates on here all rate players on a wide range...with many scored low and useless except for the odd flash....like Hoillet on Sunday.
But maybe the way we play, the home jinx (which we beat this weekend, Sparkey) and a bit of luck will see us get 3 more points and a place in the play-offs.
Jumping ahead, a lot, what would we be like if we got into the promised land. We would surely be shaky and flaky as hell and a guarantee to drop again. Similarly, our country cousins down the road and up in Bristol. I imagine WBA and (maybe) Leeds would fare a little better?

Good day for us and Derby who look unstoppable. Bristol and Forest’s turns tomorrow.

Couldn't have hoped for much better today. Our win meaning Preston obviously lost, along with Blackburn and the Jacks also striking blanks is a huge chance to make the break.

Wurzel City and Forest dropping points tomorrow would be the icing on the cake. Both at home - I wonder :emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0138-think

Only Derby look to be on the money right now but Lawrence got a straight red after the final whistle so will probably miss the next 3 games.

Question - can we even catch and overhaul Fulham???????
