Last night was not a good performance... however, we did exactly what Fergie and United have been doing for decades- looking crap- but winning in the last few minutes. We've shown this season we can be phenomenal- we've also shown we can be crap and still win. Winning is the key. I also refuse to base our future performances based on last night... for several seasons we've been doing this. One big win against a rival and then we splutter in the next match. I don't think last night will be typical of what to expect for the rest of the season. We're not going to be going into every match with a big-team victory hangover. I don't think we'll win the title. Or even second... both possible but unlikely... 3rd is ours if we continue to win. (and only if we continue to win). Chelsea and City have to come to us still- and Arse are trembling. One or more of them will slip more.
We did actually. We were top for xmas. Then we played the 2 hardest fixtures of the season away from home.
You really don't fancy Liverpool's first XI over Arsenal's second XI (probably including Bendtner!)?? I know Arsenal are at Home but Chelsea put their second XI out of the League cup comfortably at the Emirates.
Feb 2010/11 you were 1 point behind United and finished 12 points behind them. Feb 2009/10 3 points behind Chelsea and finished 11 points behind. Throw in the League Cup final and always getting knocked out of the CL too....not criticising as we've been even worse in terms of league form (and not even getting in the CL to begin with) but you did ask the question.
