Sensible, i done a 3rd place in the prediction league and at the bookies i done automatic not the play offs!! Well it could be a good day for me if it happens!!!
For more than one reason I hope you win Joe. I'm still not going to believe it though. Certainly not yet anyway.
Id rather us go up .. but still like to get a bit of money from the Bookies... not often i do.. Keep the faith...
Time to bump this thread again me thinks. What can I say, the more I try not to even think play offs the more they keep hinting at it. Another very good 3 points again tonight. Doesn't sound like it was much of a match but the points are far more important than the method of getting them. I'd settle for a 1 - 0 bore game for every one of them to the end of the season now. Next couple at home are Scunny and Chesterfield. That should be interesting. Equal points with Southend with one game in hand which I think is Newport away. They are all big games now if we are to maintain any sort of push but Joe's automatic isn't out of the question even if unlikely. I was looking at the points difference between top and bottom in league one earlier which is 40 pts and pretty standard. In league 2 it's 26 and in theory the league could mathmatically reverse itself by the end. Normally you would say more than 50 pts and job done safety wise in a season. This league is ultra rubbish from top to bottom isn't it.
Not entirely unbiased from the WMN but pleasing all the same: "Chances were few and far between during the game, but Argyle had the better of them, and they defended very solidly throughout. Curtis Nelson and Neal Trotman put in particularly strong performances for the Pilgrims." Plus 612 Greens at Wycombe on a Tuesday night from a crowd of 3,042.
Until Southend fought back for a draw....we actually were in 7th spot....and a game in hand....Nelson had a particularly good game and was supported well by Trotman. Two hard games against Scu*thorpe and Chesterfield.....but neither are setting the world alight at present. Scu*thorpe have 17 draws and are very hard to beat (4 times).....so a draw at least on Saturday.....if we could beat them it would start to really light our fire that we can get out of this Division.....lets start believing.
Going to the match with a scunny fan- despite there long unbeaten run he is concerned because over the last 10 games we have more points than them. Must plan to attack and try to win most of the remaining fixtures. As he put it, 5 wins and 5 losses beats 10 draws every time.
It would seem that the form is with us so to speak but I've seen form teams come and go this season in this league and if we are all honest we know it means nothing. If you had looked at Northampton 3 weeks ago you would have said them and one other, probably Torquay, for the drop. Now if you look at the league it could be anyone from at least 7 or 8 who could join Torquay. I do think Torquay have had it despite their brilliant win last night. It should give a boost to the matchday numbers for a couple of games and we do have the Exeter Tuesday night coming up. Makes me sick that it is a midweek match. Football League wants shooting for that one. You'd almost think they did it on purpose and don't like us much wouldn't you.
