This never ceases to amaze me. I fail to understand why so many managers, not just Brucie, will shoehorn the supposedly better players into the team but out of position. The old “round pegs square holes” routine. Just play players in their natural position and promote the replacement if the first choice isn’t available. Is it really that hard?
What amazes me even more is that he's wasting time playing the 'pegs in holes' game when he should be sorting out tactics and player selection. No wonder we are struggling.
In fairness to Lascelles, he did do ok last weekend. I think he is better with Schar n Fede beside him. I can't help but think we should be going for this today. Is 5 at the back really necessary?
