I agree and I think we'll see some heavy rotation once the cup games kick in but I think Tonali needs to be playing the full 90, firstly he's the in form player in that midfield and secondly because he needs the experience of doing the hard yards closing out games - especially against the big boy's like Liverpool and in tight games - when we only have a game a week at present I'd be trying to push him as much as possible. I get this early season weekly games are tough to get everyone mins but like I say, think Eddie got the subs wrong to an extent. Bruno isn't near Tonali's levels yet this season and you could easily have replaced Bruno with Longtaff and let Tonal sit in-front of the back 4 and dictate the game with his passing.
Good points but we are all wise after the event. If we keep entirely the same 11 then we lose in the first league cup game regardless who we play as the whole 11 are short of match fitness and understanding amongst each other as we saw every year under Ashley. It’s a fine balance.
Tottenham Chelsea and Liverpool are all improved.... seriously newcastle are outsiders for top 6 never mind top 5. I don't mind either we're not supposed to be where we finished last season yet. Last season was nothing more than a taste of the future.
