Other clubs fans would look at this comment and think it’s sarcasm. Only we know all too well that’s what would happen. Dan Burn potentially against Vinicius, Mbappe etc.. leaves me, well speechless.
Fact was that he was already on a yellow and the later foul was a yellow every day of the week. First yellow was soft but TAA knew he was on one yellow when he committed the subsequent foul as did the referee. With that set of facts the apparently black and white wearing referee then failed to give a second yellow which no one I’ve read or heard has disputed was a yellow. Just questioning Z’s ocular capabilities with the comment apparently suggesting the referee favoured us. With friends like that who needs enemies?
He did that because we always do it. Genuinely said at the time, it reminds me of when you play FM and can't think of a sub, so just sub the same thing you do every week.
Even allowing for that argument (which is completely ignoring that he was initial screwed over to cause the situation in the first place), it is one incident over god knows how many the other way. Can't believe you're even debating it tbh, the referee was a absolute joke throughout, one of the worst I've seen.
Nick Pope should be dropped for a game imho too. Too many starting to become undroppable and believing their own hype. A certain Brazilian is first amongst them I’m afraid too.
Agreed he was useless but both ways. Not sending someone off after 10 mins (?) isn’t a minor mistake by the referee.
Bruno attempted a hoofed ball over the back four near the end. I believe it is still on it's way to Sao Paulo.
Nah, big Joe still doing lots of the leg work and breaking up play. Bruno on the other hand had done sweet **** all since before the final
People say this but we were better with our best players on the pitch for some reason. We've played Man City and Liverpool... see how they get on with other clubs.
but he should never have been on a yellow and we all have seen refs ignore second "yellows" for years particularly when the first was soft.
Nah. Joelinton is too clumpy for me. He jogged around as well and when the ball comes to him he panics My midfield would be Longstaff (would be Willock if fit), Tonali and Anderson
Burn has done an excellent job in the Premier League and has obviously been a good influence in the dressing room but you are bang on about him especially against speed merchants. I first noticed this in last season's friendly at Benfica where he got done for pace for Benficas late winner. It won't take Europes elite clubs more than 2 minutes to figure out that big Dan will be the weak link in the Champions League (or Europa League games )
