They had a good team at the time ... the players I've mentioned would not win the champions league.. you mentioned champions league initially.

You mentioned champions league because I said lacelles longstaff Murphy and Burn are not good enough

Instead of trying to find reasons to believe the players I've mentioned aren't sub standard for top clubs in 2023 why not consider the fact they are not ? Would they get in Liverpools 11?
You want our entire squad to be good enough to get in Liverpool's first choice starting 11? Ambitious.

No I just don't think longstaff Murphy lascelles or burn get games at any other club in the top 6 in this country.

I believe they need replacing with better players as soon as humanly possible.

Come one man I thought the idea of Steven Taylor would have made you realise we are lucky to have him as 5th choice CM!

I don't dislike them but they're not good enough I'm afraid and I won't budge on it.

They might be ok for now but they won't get us any further and need replacing.... they'll br fazed out successfully in the next few years

Unfortunately for them they've had their fun.

Of course they need replacing eventually. They are squad fillers who have mostly been playing above the levels that we have come to expect from them, based on what we have seen of them over previous seasons. We should be appreciative of the efforts they are putting in, and of the good performances, but they are all limited. The gradual replacement task will continue over probably three or for more transfer windows... Maybe more.

Longstaff is going to have to play even more now that Tonali is **** all use to us for the rest of the season, something he was being applauded for.

We've got willock thankfully and Joelinton who's out of sorts but far superior to longstaff.

Longstaff is the midfielder out of all of them that needs fazing out.

Joelinton looks like he's worried about his hamstring. Doesnt seem to be accelerating like he can, nor running at full pelt. Hopefully he'll soon be back to that because we miss the explosive power that he can bring when fully fit and firing.

I don't mind longstaff as a squad player but i agree he isn't good enough long term, we have no option but to play him in every game at the minute though really.

I agree.... the sooner nufc fans stop celebrating mediocre the better.

They will soon be forced to thankfully.

The thing is they're not squad fillers they're 1st team players and the day they become squad players like Ritchie and Manquillo we'll be getting somewhere.

The futures bright mate.

It'll take talent development through the youth system to see them out the squad anytime soon, you need 4 club trained players for a minimum of three years between 15-21 (if we are playing in Europe) so you can't buy those players or if you do buy them at 15-18 it'll still take 3 years to be eligible.
