At the moment I’m just a bit annoyed. Not cause of the result, City beat the best constantly. It’s the lack of intelligence and fear of some of our players. Some players looked petrified, longstaff being the main one.

We need to go to these stadiums and set down a marker, go full throttle, even if we lose it shows we’re coming and we’re not afraid. We just were so timid. Frightened.

I think if Newcastle had opened up they'd have been thumped... man City owned Newcastle today.. ..they took newcastle seriously and did a proper job

Love Burn as a human being, spot on lad.

But come on, what does he offer? Just because he doesn’t make big mistakes doesn’t justify him being our starting LB. He hasn’t got the pace for powerful runs down the wing (which would help us create so many more chances) he hasn’t got pace and doesn’t head very well which is baffling due to his height. He just does simple passes each and everytime.

But as said before, he’s a top lad.

Newcastle have some good foundations to build on and despite tonight being pretty demoralising there's a bright future ahead.

Our levels probably top 8 not European champion level.

We went there with hope tonight that's why it was disappointing...one day we'll go there and do better... a reality check tonight.

We should have lumped it into the box at the end don't you think?

I think we believed in our hype and got a reality check.. I mean even I thought we could win.

I think we might have the season this season we thought we'd have last season.

Newcastle need some quality to push on ... some flair... there's none we're a very solid but very basic outfit nothing more.

We let in 1 goal against the CL winners, PL champions and FA cup winners away from home so positive result in my book, next week true test to see were we are

Anyway **** this Man City are going to win the league by about 25 points, let's hope for another cup run and turn up in the final.

We just need to finish in the top 5 for CL qualification next season.

Miley and Anderson are ahead of Longstaff, he isn't good enough.

Longstaff and Burn get special treatment because of being geordies. Having them in the dressing room, great, no problem. But they should both be cup players / subs when winning comfortably.

Ideally, if it were upto me, our starting back four should be Trippier / Schar / Botman / Hall.

As I said previous, the result I’m fine with.. more than fine with. They’re the best team in the world. It was the performance. A lot are saying “we let 1 goal in against the best team in the world / league” but the true reflection from that 90 minutes was we **** ourselves.

& I agree that we actually played better last season at the Etihad, regardless of the result.

To think this was City without De Bruyne, Bernardo, Stones, Gundagon & played on Greece only 72 hours ago.
    Madness.

Some **** clubs did better than newcastle? These clubs played them at a good time because city had played a few days earlier.

I didn’t watch as I was away. A good result. A bad performance by the sounds of it.

They just went into professional mode.

Schooled us which is no shame.

    They are the bar.
