Not sure why anyone has been surprised by this. Every single time we go to the Etihad we look like little boys watching their idols. I feel for Isak, he’s trying to do stuff but has no one near him. Waste of a fixture. Write it off. We have Burn as our left back man.

Bruno needs dropping I think, give him a kick up the arse. No shame in not being at your best agiant Man City but he has been poor for a while now.

Well we are a better team now, so with that expectations rise, to at least lay a glove on them.

Almiron for Barnes and I’d get Trippier at Lb and bring on Livramento for Burn, who’s a liability at this point (because he offers nothing).

I’m not convinced by our tactics failing to evolve in nearly two years. You can’t just keep doing the same things over and over. Almirons one two act is actually embarrassing now. 4-3-3 was fine but City are easily playing between our “lines” and there’s still a massive hole behind Isak, where City have two players with all the time in the world.

I think it’s another example of how far behind we are as a team and how far away Howe is as a manager.

Seriously think too many on here are actually underestimating City.

Yes KDB is missing but Foden would get into every other team in the PL so not a bad replacement.

We need to retain the ball better and be more clinical on the counter.

Only one goal in it at the moment and we’re still in the game.

We're clearly second best but we're still in this game. Miggy and Joelinton have both been terrible, but I'm hoping our general fitness will start to tell later.

We've also got Barnes who can have an impact.
    But yeah, a testing night.

At the end of the day they needed a great goal this is the best team in the world. 45 to go still in with a chance of getting something.

Very slow, no movement whatsoever, not sure wot the plan is. If it's constantly give the ball to Miggy, then we are ****ed. Burn is awful, like we have 10 men. Tripper left back, Livramento right back, Gordon swap with Miggy, hook Miggy of and Barnes on the left, Big Joe off, and Wilson on. 4-4, ****ing 2. <cheers>

They won 17 of their 18 home PL fixtures last season. It's no easy task. Take this as a 'free hit' game. Anything we can get from this game is a plus.

If they’re as meek in the second half I’m going to be really pissed and think Liverpool will be laughing at the prospect of facing them. Almiron looks like the usual version and Burn is absolute cack. Not helped by our so called best being hopeless. Only Isak, Botman and Tonali looking good enough.

Miggy keeps trying the one two and not actually getting the ball back when he’s in space. Not sure you can blame him for that

Quite clearly tactical Newcastle are not playing the way they usually do. Looking fwd to the 2nd half to see what happens when they go for it.

I’m just asking for us to fight tonight, man, I’m not saying the whole club is a catastrophic disaster!!! It’s been poor. Let’s see what 45 mins brings.
