This is correct.... unfortunately as we've seen with Bobby Pardew and Bruce there will come a point when the fans starts to try and influence the situation. I believe there's already a section at the ground as I've heard from other season ticket holders I know.. a minority but it's there. Howe needs replacing but I don't think the times right... let him either turn the ship around or make sure he goes out his shield without any excuses.
Before that spend we were everyone’s tip for relegation. We are currently 8th and most of the season still to come. As you concede, others have spent too so it’s not like that money was something only we spent so why do you keep quoting it as if it should have produced miracles. It’s not a lot over 3 seasons when you are where we were and everyone else is spending similar. Your scathing criticism of Howe doesn’t just suggest expecting “better” than 8th.
The fans didn't influence jack **** under Ashley, hence he appointed the like of Kinnear, Bruce, McClaren and Pardew.
Tbf we were tipped for relegation for the 4 seasons prior to the takeover. The real reason for all of this is that the financial rules that have been put in place to protect the order at the top work.

Ok I won’t quote the money thing. But we have not strengthened in the right areas recently. As people have said Eddie is far too involved. The scouting isn’t fit for purpose (Mitchell’s words not mine). There have been so many changes at board level and Staveley leaving was a mistake. Now we need to replace Eales. Howe gets this season for me. With no excuses at the end if we finish outside top 7.
No we weren't. We've never been tipped for relegation at the start of the season. The 2 times we did go down in was a huge shock and no one had tipped us then at the start either.
For what it’s worth I think a working FFP is fine. Owners should be allowed to put money in. But it should be ringfenced so they can’t take more out.

I understand you probably thought we'd win the league, but many others tipped Newcastle for relegation under Benitez following promotion and most certainly under Steve Bruce. I know this for a fact.
If you look at the Man City game thread I give him massive credit. Go and have a read. I am balanced in that when it is good I give praise and when it’s bad I give criticism. Some don’t like that. That’s fine. But I am fair in my comments.

Well you've flipped that around interestingly, I said we weren't tipped for relegation, you come back saying I thought we'd win the league, no I never thought that because I'm not insane. No one tipped us for relegation after we were promoted under Rafa cos the previous relegation was entirely due to McClaren, and after we were promoted, new signings had been made, and the team was vastly better. We were tipped for relegation the next season either, cos we finished 10th when we went back up....why would that suggest relegation the next season? Even under Bruce we were never tipped for relegation cos he inherited Rafa strong team. Just cos you said we'd go down doesn't mean "we were tipped", and you don't know it for a fact cos no one else was saying it.
