I look at the bottom of the league. We lost to Palace, Forest, Luton and Everton. We still have to play away to Brentford and Burnley so if we lose today we could get beat by all 7 of them this season - how on earth are we even in the fight for European football next year?

Easily. Demba Ba was excellent before he had to make way for Cisse. Cisse was the same level as Isak (or higher) but only for 6-9 months in total so it was form rather than ability.
