The issue with Bruno higher up is his severe lack of pace

Yep in fact all 3 with the exception of tonali are pretty slow and this is an issue that is compounded by the two cbs so being made of lead.

The cbs can't push up too far for fear of being caught out and the midfield either can't get up the pitch to support the front 3 or it does get up there and there's a massive gap in between defence and midfield.

The cbs need replacing to fix this issue imo, but we get people pointing at literally every other area.. areas the manager has tried almost all options.

I've said for years we need Schar replacing. But the other issue with lack of pace in midfield is that I in think that's why EH wants to play Tonali further up which is a mistake. He's the perfect no 6.

I think Schar has served the club very well, but if Newcastle want to improve both him and will need a massive upgrade.

Fans in general will always look at the other areas and pitch for forwards, but really I don't think there's a more important position on the pitch than cb.

Read a piece on Howe and he had some troubling things to say about player morale, odd comments about how he tries different things all the time (corners and 433 say otherwise) and the general feel of his interview was - much like the Summer sagas - just off kilter. There was some comment from the journo that his “intensity” was not really working with the players anymore.

It’s just journalism at the end of the day but a lot of the direct quotes left almost more questions than answers.

I think Keegan had the sense to not arrive and end up sitting looking daft with cameras on him remembering having his soul removed almost 30 years ago by Liverpool and Man United.

The time isn't quite right.
