Wow, I can't believe Sunderland have thrown away 2 points from a winning position. And against a team playing ****e.

What a bunch of bottle jobs. No backbones. **** team. Soft mentality. Useless. Le Bris out.

Seems a fair analysis after last night.

You all agree, yes?

Good night.

<cheers>

They held on in injury time.

Just out of interest, if we had our full squad available, which Villa players would you start ahead of ours in a combined first choice XI?

I can't think of many Villa players I'd regard as better than ours on a like for like basis. Obviously I have my Toon tinted glasses, so interested to see who you'd select.

So out of interest if our players are so much better why are we 12th and Villa are 3rd?

If we’re all honest we know the answer. But our bestest fans and indecisive owners know better…..

Well, he was the club's 1st choice, but he snubbed us. So we move on. No point in looking back at what could have been. He made his choice.

Agreed. And I think the structure around Howe hasn’t been good enough. Villa have had a far more stable, long term structure. I reckon we need to probably sit tight and see what we can do with a less Mickey Mouse CEO and a more grounded Sporting Director.

On the face of it I have Newcastle at 7-4 against the Villa first XI which doesn’t help Howes case in terms of being 12th vs 3rd. But we’ve a cup, a CL run ahead of them.

Pretty much the stat from last night, 11 points dropped from winning positions.

Yeah I think Howe isn’t as good a manager. I think anyone would be mental to suggest otherwise, look at the history and the trophy count, miles apart. That Howe is even keeping up with Emery recently is impressive, and maybe he can do it with better support. I just feel Howe was our Hughes but has hugely over achieved and made decisions difficult. Always feels like we’re at a perpetual cross roads. The direction of travel from City or Chelsea was so clear, but ours is a bit more….mid.

They're going to keep doing well
I said when they made their signings earlier this year that they had made some good signings.

Obviously I got abuse and absolutely slated by some folks on here at the time and some said they hadn’t even heard of some of them. Some even said they were **** signings.

I was like nope they have bought better than us………

As for the Emery argument. Let’s see at the end of the season. I think Howe is good but limited and won’t take us to the next level because of his obvious flaws. Which people are now starting to see.

He just won’t get us to the very top.

You did tbf... They've got a wave of positivity going, the confidence in their players is high, and they've got something to fight and hold onto.

Newcastle had that post Ashley and the takeover, but that's gone now, it's just simmered down to reality.

The bubble will burst at Sunderland too eventually hopefully, but we're getting them before then, unfortunately.
