A few? 20 mins ago apparently we had to win 5 games until you realised your calculations were all over the place.

You're running out of games to say we're going to mess it up.

It is not possible to say that's simply not happening.... the point is that it could happen or it could happen the two after that and Liverpool could win all 4.
 
If we win our home games it will be enough. Tough ask but we have to assume LiVARpool are going to finish on 71 points based on their run in.

No there's 18 points left 4 games isn't mathematically correct because goal difference is marginal and could swing.

5 games it's mathematically correct.
 
Don't forget Manchester Reds are still in this too. I think people are just assuming they are going to finish 3rd.

This is the thing it's all theory and guesswork ... ultimately newcastle still have quite a bit of work left before they can secure top 4.

It was theory and guess work at the start of the season that City would win the league, but guess work with good odds.

In the same way its now very good odds we'll get champions league.

We don't need to do that. We need to win 4 and draw 1 and that will guarantee Champions League football even if Villa and Liverpool win all their games.

5 wins would make it mathematically certain

4 wins (like you claimed) would not

So your mathematical slant was wrong.
 
Anyway let's just hope newcastle win tomorrow one game at a time..

5th would've exactly be the end of the world anyway imo.

The only good thing is at least they only won the last two games by a goal, hopefully we can tonk Southampton so the GD is a point in our favour.
