This is definitely where our problem lies. And @Roland Deschain has been saying it from Day one so fair play to him. Tammy Abraham Ivan Toney Patrick Schick
i disagree. There is literally no service. Balls are being launched up to him, he gets the flick on but there is no one
He’s a class player but sadly probably above our level right now. For the way we currently play we need a physical striker who is also technically good and a finisher. Nunez is not a physical striker but more a technical in the gaps striker. I might be wrong mind.
He’s had a lot of chances which better strikers would have taken. We have played high balls to him but he doesn’t find pockets of space. We launch it up to him mainly because he doesn’t move away from his marker he just sits and waits with the defender behind him. He’s scored 1 goal in his last 16 games.
Núñez is a right-footed player, he possesses an athletic frame, excellent acceleration and sprinting speed is the defining facet of his athletic skillset, with his explosive change of pace being capable of creating immediate separation.[33][34] He also has good awareness, he scans space and makes decisions when moving relative to the ball, space, team-mates and opponents.[33][34] Núñez is a disruptive striker with a dynamic range of mobility that can carry counter-attacks, makes incisive movements around the box, and strike the ball explosively.[33][34] He is adept at attacking open spaces and is good at generating shots from varied situations.[33][34] He is also a promising creator around the box and is also capable of playing as a left-winger.[33][34]
i agree he has had a few chances however he is very isolated. I genuinely don’t understand the signing at all. Wilson will fair better as he is more mobile. Wood is a target man and needs another striker alongside him. This reminds me of when Rafa just played Joselu up top by himself. I’m not advocating it but surely Gayle alongside Wood would be wiser.
Agreed. He does win the flick ons your right but there is often no one there. So tactically he doesn’t really fit our play style. Unless the plan is to clear the lines first and foremost to release pressure on the Defense. Which works. But moving up the levels we need better.
I'm sure if we stay up we won't be too dissatisfied with what the club tries to do. Still got to stay up though and we're not safe yet.
