you should be ok when you get your better players back, good point for Newcastle today, although you need to strengthen up front

We also need a CB only Ashley and Pardew don't see it.

If Colo goes we'll need two new CBs. Taylor is just too injury prone and can't be relied upon to give a full season. And Willo is simply not good enough.

2 new CBs, Taylor as cover and Perch as cover for that and about 3 other positions.

It was a pretty bad game but on reflection we didn't lose which is rare this season, however we really lack any confidence in our play. I suspect we need a break at home to Reading and if we get that we can carry on from there. I'd like to see Pardew get his substitutions right, get us to score maybe 1 set piece and basically how to pass the ball effectively but at the moment that seems a big ask.

Me too. If he goes we are in serious doo-doo. Really hope we hang on to him AND sign a new CB to partner him.

I think giving Colo a decent CB partner will do wonders for his game and that will knock on through the whole team.
Winning and moving forwards will breed the right mentality and confidence will increase.
A happier Colo is much more likely to want to find a solution to his current problems, which does not include leaving the club.
As for Pardew, well if he resigned or was sacked, who do we replace him with ? Now l am sure replacements will be suggested, but we also need to remember that any new manager needs to be able to tolerate Ashley and Co, which for me seems like a major barrier to attracting anyone better than what we currently have
So for me, l think we stick with Pardew for the rest of the season, then see where we are, even if that means the fizzy pop league looming, as l cannot see who could possibly be recruited to manage Ashley, who for me is a bigger challenge than the team.

Sunderland may yet miss out to neighbours Newcastle in a bid for Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
The 23-year-old is due to speak to Sunderland on Monday but has already held talks with Newcastle and Juventus.
The France midfielder is available for £2.5m as he is out of contract in the summer.

I wouldn't say no but its hardly a priority signing for us. He is a beast though. I thought he was staying till the summer. To be honest if Juventus are sniffing then I'd be surprised if he ended up anywhere but the old lady

I hope we do sign him. Tiote has been on and off, and some competition would be good for him.

Looked a cracking player on every occasion I've seen him. I like his midfield mate too Capoue.

I have been watching a bit of French football of late to be honest. It can be a bit drab at times but there are some good players. Barton has been good and they seem very pleased with him.

Not a priority, no, but we need to have strength and depth in the squad, plus some competition for places would not be a bad thing either.
He is a quality player and the fee is good, if we could snag him, we definitely should.

Having got Alfie in I am not sure if we are as desperate to sign Sissoko, although he does seem a good player.

However one or two CBs (like us) would seem your priority, you have replaced BA, with another French guy and with Cabye and Hatem I would have thought CM is ok.

for 2.5 million I'd love him jesus we need to move away form having to field Perch. This player would give us much more than just grit. Tiote needs genuine competition foir his place and for me Anita isn't big enough for DM in the premier league simple as that. if we get him and remy we will be fielding half the French national team in games WOW

I do agree that Tiote needs proper competition.

Fir me it's not just that but in all honesty if he gets injured or when hes at the ACON and I'm sorry but Perch is never going to be good enough despite all his effort which I commend.

If we are close to Sissoko does that mean he is on his way to QPR ? Perhaps we need to start charging clubs for using our scouting network recommendations.
