Wow! I knew it was bad but that just takes the piss! Lets just hope justice prevails (i.e the admin ****s right off) and you get a new owner in and gets your team back on the right track
It sure puts our (and most clubs') crises into perspective. We can relate to the nobody caring aspect though. Well nobody caring when it's going right anyway! When it goes tits up... BOOM! Media frenzy
donated. my wife is from Plymouth.I lived there for a bit enjoyed good banter in mutley plain/stoke and the barbican wish you nothing but well and hopefully you'll ride this out
Thank you Toon Army for all your messages of support and help. Our players and staff are still working/playing for nothing and Sir Peter has a team with an average age of 20, 9 of whom have never played in professional football before. The preferred bidder who the administrator and his mate Risdale choose were supposed to pay £1 million for exclusivity, but only £300,000 arrived, deadlines have come and gone and yet the administrator still keeps extending the completion date. We dont have any idea who the PB's are as they wish to remain hidden, the fans ousted one called Kevin Heaney (know locally as Heineous) who is a property developer who has gone bust in past. He isnt interested in Argyle, just the land on which Home Park sits, there is a covenant on the ground that it can only be used for professional football, but you and I know how easily those can be broken. If he and his consortium end up buying us, he is selling Argyle to Risdale for a £1. Our knight in shining armour is a local business man James Brent and although he has no interest in football doesn't want to see us go. As I said in an earlier post he, and the trust are waiting in the wings, but are sadly running out of time to save us .... rumour has it that if the PB bid fails, they would only have 24 hours in which to save us. The weekend is yet another deadline which nobody has any faith in the sale being completed by. If I'm honest I don't know what the lesser of the two evils are .... being taken over by Heineous & Co or liquidation ..... If we were a Prem team what is happening to us would be splashed all over the front of the nationals, but we arn't we are just a team of kids heading for non-league if we survive lol .Hopefully by Monday we still have a footy club, so we can still enjoy the close friendship we have we you the Toon Army...... Thank you all again for your kind words, it really does mean alot !
I wish the very best of luck to you. Hate to see any club at any level go bust. Really hope something can happen to keep you going but if not hope you do a Wimbledon and rebuild and climb back to the league.
I was at the match the night you got promoted and we went the other way. Along with a lot of Argyle fans gave your team an ovation despite the bitter result for us. I've never seen that here before and quite why everyone had an outpouring of affection for Newcastle I'm not sure but it was very good natured considering and well meant. I've seen many ups and downs, mostly downs with Argyle over the last 50 years but never the likes of the current situation. I have to believe it will all end well otherwise I might as well cancel Saturdays as I wouldn't know what else to do. How we got here is unbelievable and few understand quite what happened. The backroom staff have stuck with us despite the pay situation and a lot of supporters have thrown their banknotes into a bucket to try to help them out on many occasions. I bought my season ticket and my son's for this season even though I have little support for the supposed incoming mob or the Administrator. But, what else do you do when you can't contemplate there not being a club at all. If you don't support in sufficient numbers then it goes anyway. A lot of other club supporters have been very kind to us even if they don't agree with the Admin situation where local businesses get shafted. I hate it myself as do all right thinking Argyle fans. It is yet another embarrassment we have to live with. However, I have never read a bad post from any Newcastle fan on either here or the old 606. It is a comfort to know that we are not the only ones who care and whatever happens to us there will always be a soft spot for the Toon in this neck of the woods. You never know we may meet again at some time in the future and the boot might be on the other foot result wise. Even after 50 years I still dare to dream. Thanks.
I can't believe that someone from another club, especially a prem club would do this for us. You guys are unbelievable and I won't forget this. Top fans!
At the end of the day we're all football fans. I wouldn't want any fans to go through what you must be going through at the moment, not even Sunderland. Well, maybe them!
