Fook me Delap, I'll have what your drinking! Newcastle (A): 0 Points. Arsenal (H): 0 Points. Everton (H): 0 Points. QPR (A): 1 Point. Bolton (H) 1 Point. Newcastle, Arsenal & Everton are all in excellent form and playing for something, every point counts for them and they are scoring freely at the moment! QPR & Bolton will be scrappy games and their season could come down to our game - like Wigan last year!
I think we'll have problems with Newcastle 0 pts Everton we can win that game 3 pts Arseanl my heart say's win but I think 1 pt QPR still not safe 1pt Bolton 3pts Gives us 50pts Smither's our best since promotion so I would be happy with that. Beat the Gunners even better... and we can do it at home IMO. I think we'll need 54 to get a top half finish, just can not see that happening.
Hope your right Potts, but i just dont see where the optimism is coming from all of a sudden. We lose to Wigan, struggle to kill of Wolves and get a point against Villa all of whom are relegation area teams yet we think we will get results againts 3 teams who are 3rd, 5th & 7th when we cant keep a clean sheet? I hope your right and I am wrong but if we only pick what we have averaged so far we are struggling to see progression on our previous 3 seasons from a black & white stats point of view and i think we are all agreed that the football itself hasn't improved!
I thought Jones played alright to be fair, could have got more out of it if Walters hadn't been as poor as he was, was disappointing Jerome didn't start, but I think it was right to rest Crouch and play Jones. Before the match I said waan't too fussed about Delap playing RM, after everything that's gone on with Pennant recently I didn't think he'd be fit enough to play yesterday, but when he came on he seemed fine, if anything Etherington should have been rested. But Palacios was a positive though.
We played badly against Wigan and deserved to lose that one, we showed strength against Wolves, we played badly but managed to force the right result in the end, and then exactly the opposite against Villa, we played ok, they were poor and we just couldn't do it, which I think was down to tiredness and a couple of poor selections. A lot is riding on the Newcastle game, the form they are in I'm expecting 0pts from that, but the most important thing is that we still give 'em a game and don't fall apart. I think we can hit 50 points, but something tells me we're more likely to beat Arsenal than Everton, don't know why, it's just a feeling I've got.
Everton 1pt Toon 0pts Arsenal 1pt QPR 1pt Bolton 1pt 46points I'd like us to get 50pts to achieve our best so far and it is possible with 5 games still to play, but being pessimistic we'll probably hit 46pts. We could manage 2 wins out of the 3 home games and who know's, we may sneak a win at QPR
Hey up We beat Everton, ArseNIL & Bolton at home last year. 2-0 3-1 and 2-0 if my memory serves me. For me Newcastle Loss ArseNIL Draw Everton Win QPR Loss Bolton Win We owe them after that result at the Rebok So 49 points I will be happy as I have said some highlights but some absolute dross
Smither's I'm always postive at home.. NON of the top teams have beaten us so far this season at home. That's why I feel we could well beat Arsenal.. yes we would have to play well but against the better teams we usually do that, who knows what may happen. Three home games? Why not! 9pts and any others would be a bonus. Still that would beat our best to date pts wise. For me, that would mean a good season despite as Cris say's.. some dross games some very good games.
To be honest it was me saying that we should be more positive but looking at it now I was wrong, TP has to go IMO!!
If we dont beat Bolton that will be 5 points in our last seven games - 4 of which were home games! 5 points from a possible 21 points!
