Unless he just wants to get back nearer his home in Wales. His son is doing okay as a keeper in the Welsh league I believe, maybe he wants to be nearer to him?
As has been pointed out it could be either way, he has given notice or has been given notice. I guess we will find out in due course. I am curious to know why John Beale left running the academy, he just seemed to leave without any explanation. I saw a tweet he answered to the other day, say would this person put him down for the vacancy for an academy manager for an Egyptain team. So clearly he is not working at the moment.
We have absolutely no idea what's gone on with Pennock. Shota's had nine games, his first nine games in English football and some are writing him off already? Are we writing off Sayyadmanesh as well, after all, he's had 58 minutes to prove himself now?
Whilst I can see why my posts would appear to be writing him off, I’m not, I’m just a bit worried as to why a new manager has come in & done pretty much the same things with the same players that wasn’t working when he was apparently offered the job last year. A coach who has worked with some big name managers & can’t come up with something different. The transfer budget & the same players argument can be brought up again & again, but does he really have no other ideas than to bring strikers on when we’re losing & put them into the positions of the players being replaced? That’s the worrying thing for me.
Let's at least give him time to see what's wrong and hopefully be given the chance to do something about it. We have what the Allams left us with and he can't do anything about that until the summer window. Feel free to pass judgement then.
Agreed, I guess I was just hoping for a bit more with his CV as player & Assistant. Ideas that were different to what appears to be a League 1 manager that’s going back there.
The answer to that is the same as the answer to why Grant McCann didn't come up with new formations and tactics - because it's not really how it works. You give this squad to pretty much any manager and we're going to play a similar way. In the modern game most teams play the same way and it comes down to how well they're executed.
Whilst that seems a sensible answer, I just feel that there is a lot that could & should be done differently, but as I’m not the manager, not likely to be the manager, nor is anyone on here, then there really shouldn’t be any need for suggestions of what Shota should or shouldn’t be doing on the match day thread, according to everyone who says there’s nothing else anyone could do, even Pep would play the same system, because that’s the only option!
All the stats prove it, when we win we have less of the ball. That means more or less you’re going to be playing a direct style. We’ve won 1 game this season where we’ve had more possession then the opposition. We don’t have players creative enough to create chances for us when we dominate the ball nor do we have players capable of playing through the thirds effectively without losing it in **** areas which allows the other team to cut us open easily. Shota is playing almost an identical style to Grant which makes sense as most of these players won’t be here next season anyway.
Do most teams play the same way? I don't think Liverpool play the same as Man City who don't play the same as Chelsea who don't play the same as Tottenham who don't play the same as Arsenal. I don't think Watford play the same as Leeds who don't play the same as Newcastle.
Tony Pennock wanted to leave. As he has wanted to leave several times over the last few years. Mutual agreement and he leaves at the end of the season. He will be missed.
"Tony is a very important person, he’s decided to end his contract at the end of the season, I spoke to him and the management spoke to him, it’s his decision. "We have to respect everyone, give them space and help them in the future if in some way I can – I told him and I’ve told everyone that I really appreciate that he stays until the end of the season to help me and the team. "If there was anything I could do, I’d use all my power and relationships within the club to help things settle better, but we can all be happy and unhappy, have good things and bad things but I don’t believe it is me that is the reason. "We’ve had a good chat, we do well, we work well and it’s a good combination. I’ve only been here six or seven weeks and we’ve had some perfect days. Today again, we’ve had some good work, some good understanding. People make decisions, we have to respect that.” "At this moment, I haven’t been too busy with this because we’ve been concentrating (on the games coming up). "I have to say, he’s done a great job in this club and I will have to be on the lookout to replace him well – the time, I hope will come to think about that. Now, with his energy I’m thankful to him for being loyal to the club and me, too." Shota Arveladze
You posted 'we have absolutely no idea what's happened with Tony Pennock' He offered his resignation and by mutual agreement it has been accepted and he leaves at the end of the season. He will be missed. I said that.
Because the options you are given are Matchday Thread/Transfer Rumours/Prediction thread or Betting thread. So off those topics seemed the most appropriate.
