Im not sure our players are necessarily as good as some of us think they are. Not for one second saying they’re bad, they’re my favourite Sunderland side ever. I just don’t think they’re all as good yet as we sometimes make out.

Id agree we have better players on average than Ipswich. But they play more effective football and are clearly a better side. McKenna certainly seems to be a better manager, but it’s unreasonable to expect our manager to be better than all the others

The only things tactically I question are the fact we seem quite static from midfield up. Our defence weirdly seems fluid, with players interchanging. I completely understand why. But out “front 5” are very rigid. Clarke always wide left, Roberts or Ba always wide right. One of the two number 8s and the number 10 floating about, with a striker always marked by one of two centre backs.

Persobally I’d like to see much more fluidity up there. The simple obvious one is have the wingers swap occasionally, or even have the striker go out wide. Rusyn started to do this and we loooked better when he went looking for the ball.

I just think we are too easy to defend against as our players are all in the same positions. It limits the impact Clarke and Roberts can make. And severely limits the striker

This must be the most balanced and fair comment I've ever seen from an opposition manager

It's reasonable to expect our players to create more than 1 decent chance a game (which we currently aren't) imo it's shocking that mowbray can't get these players creating anything

I agree with you. I’m just saying it’s unreasonable to compare us to Ipswich and say we should be able to do what they’re doing.

Why not? They've just came up from league 1? They're literally a manager away from falling apart. We should 100% try our luck with McKenna

but every club should be looking at Ipswich and saying “why not us?”. So it’s not right to expect it.

No chance McKenna leaves what he’s doing with Ipswich to come here. Doubt he’d even move for a premier league job right now

I disagree, however the point I'm trying to make is, why can a manager with a league 1 team perform better than ours?

huge huge huge difference. Kompany would be unemployed.

McKenna isn’t just employed. He’s on a dream run.

now if Ipswich sack McKenna - of course he’d then jump at a club like us I’m sure. But they’re not going to.

So if you're in agreement Mowbray needs to leave, who would you go for? McKenna should be at least on the list.
Look at the calibre of people we've targeted in the past? The bloke they had to replace Mowbray in the summer is manager of the team 2nd in Ligue 1

I think you underestimate our pulling power, especially now. If it's not McKenna ( my preference) don't be surprised if it's someone of a similar ilk

I don’t think McKenna would leave for ANY job right now. I’m not underestimating our pulling power.

Completely agree it would be somebody of similar ilk. But likely somebody we’ve never heard of. And very unlikely somebody currently managing a team above us in the football pyramid who is under no pressure .

Mate I'm tired and pissed. I believe McKenna would come, you don't.
However we both believe Mowbray isn't getting enough out of the lads atm.
If they targeted Faroli before I'm looking forward to seeing whose on the next list
