Agree. We were a newly promoted PL Club when he took over with a good Championship winning team that had the players and manager to provide the basis for a decent PL team. .A confusing read that. On the one hand TF is supposed to have said there is no rush to progress, on the other that we want to be in the PL in the next couple of years! No rush now November then, but we would need to strengthen the team somehow January and in the summer to be looking at promotion next season, and all with declining income and FFP on the wall behind. Hope he has a good 2 year plan.....
We won't make the Premier League as a selling club and the longer we wait the further the dream will be out of our reach. It's somewhere between a rock and a hard place...
Agree with you Os. Wasn't it the other day that he said we're likely to be a Championship side for a few years? Hope he isn't going back to his "Premier League is everything" view.......
Not "everything" but for me it has to be the target. But today it looks a very tough one to achieve in 2 years.
I'd be surprised if it's achieved in 5 years especially given the huge financial advantages those clubs that are relegated will have in the coming years, mind Villa, Boro and Sunderland are not exactly setting the Championship alight despite their £100m prize money for being crap last season.....
