Yeah but so did Will Atkinson, we only played Cooper, Cullen, Atkinson and Devitt towards the end of the Prem season because we were already relegated

East and Devitt are no more than decent 4th division players. In the case of the former, I d have him up there with Nicky Featherstone and destined for the conference in fact, ultimately going to that place where all failed local Hull City players end up - North Ferriby

Cullen is still only 20 and it would seem a bit premature to sell him even though he hasn't had any success as yet. It's well documented that he cannot play the offside trap but he can finish and goalscorers cost money. I believe that eventually he will score a fair amount at some level and he may be worth a fair bit. Give him a couple more years but if he doesn't show anything still then get rid. But there's always a chance he might be a late bloomer like Vaz Te so sending him to Scotland might be beneficial.

Cooper played on Sept 26th, it's not that near the end of the season...

Yes, but he wasn't consistent, after September how many appearances did he make for the first team?

One, because we lost the first game he played in 6-1, but it was down to Sonko, Liam did little wrong in that game(and he broke his hand having some daft barney with his missus).

I agree with you on Mark Cullen and with his contract up next summer he needs to shape up and quick.

Liam Cooper IMO is ahead of Alex Bruce and Faye at the moment but for differing reasons. Coops has done well the last 2 games.

Bradley and East need loans out for the season as already posted elsewhere. Look at the improvement in Townsend from doing such a thing last season. He now needs a league one club for this season on loan. Doncaster would be a good choice, imo.

I think its time that we pulled out of the reserve league and teamed up with North Ferriby Utd who play at a good level of football. It may help get them upto the Conference North and Conference levels. Far better standard to play at for them.

Its a shame that we dont work closer with York, Scunny and Grimsby more though. imo.

Cooper came on as sub against Arsenal (Brownies last game in charge) for 30 mins and with Moyo played his heart out and but for Myhills gaff would have got us a point then Dowie came in and dropped him.

As for that 6-1 loss @ Liverpool, John Terry would have been hard pressed that day alongside Sonko.

I heard what he said and find that strange. Bruce may have got names mixed up. East-Bradley-Townsend deffo need to go out on loan. But Cooper has done well so far in pre-season and looks better than Bruce jnr. Faye is overweight and not ready to play yet. Well he was when he signed up. We need 4 defenders at least until Hobbs is back. Cooper going out on loan would be Steve Brucies 2nd mistake. imo.

That 6-1 was realistically a 3-1 score! When Gerrard fluked his cross into a goal we gave up! Cooper had a good game & I felt he was unlucky not to carry on!

Coops should stay with us for this season. Him and Faye should compete for the starting berth next to Chester. Bradley should go out on loan, to a League 1 club till January. If Macca leaves then the Bruce signing turns out to be some versatile cheap bench warming cover and im fine with that (especially if Elmo comes in to).

If both go out on loan we'll probably have to keep Mcshane in the squad.

I agree that Cooper is adequate cover but Bruce wants to send him out on loan so this debate is a bit pointless really

Bruce may not have meant Cooper. He gave no mention of East or Townsend either. The McShane situation is also up in the air. Nothing will happen until late August or September. The way we are going at the moment re.injuries nobody can afford to be sent out on loan.

Pretty sure if he said Cooper then he meant Cooper and with him signing two centre backs last month, it wouldn't be a coincidence for cooper to go out on loan would it!

Bruce definitely meant Cooper otherwise he wouldn't of said it.

When I posted I was suggesting they find other clubs not because I or some others on here don't rate them but because it seems almost a foregone conclusion that if you come through from the Hull City lower ranks then your destined to be mucked about and have the confidence knocked out of you and generally thought of as not good enough with other players coming into the club and getting into the team ahead of you. No matter how hard they try they are just not going to get in the first team for a good spell.

Bruce has others who need to go out on loan before Cooper. I am starting to think that Bruce snr is putting his son before the good of the team. Ive seen nothing yet to suggest that Cooper is worse than Bruce jnr or Faye. Cooper has been in good form so far.

SB post match comments are hard to accept. But again injuries may alter things not to mention Cooper keeping up and even improving his performances.

Devitt shouldn't have been on that list, as mentioned he never played for us in the Premier League.

Surprisingly, he actually played for us 18 times in the 2010/11 season and half of them were in the starting XI.

I never said he hadn't gone backwards, I said in his current position it was far too early to be saying he was wasting his time staying here when there's the opportunity to loan him out to get a run of games and then come back into the side in January/next summer. Even so, he wasn't playing regularly 4 years ago, he was playing because we were short of players. Gary Neville made his debut in the early 90s and didn't become a regular until the mid-late 90s because Parker was still at Old Trafford, and they even switched Irwin to right back and stuck the left winger (wtf was his name, the one they had before Giggs?) at left back in preference to playing him. (and yes I'm intentionally picking Man U players that fit my argument because they happen to have been at the most successful club in the country at the time those players were at their peak). The time for writing the kids off is when there are players in the team that are younger than them and still look better able to do the job.
