I will swallow no more reassuring comments after another unproductive match. I will ignore all patronising nonsense from the media and others, there is absolutely no more time for excuses of any kind including bad decisions from officials, I am up to ear with all that. If we are to accept that we are nearly as good as everybody is claiming, nothing but nothing other than three points will do.
Don:t they play on paper or is it the other way round.? We do not seem to perform against teams who 'on paper' we should beat. Hang on too much paper. I will settle for 3 pints
Interesting first half but what the feck was Gary O'Neil thinking? A far better showing than I was expecting from Norwich but as usual lacking in front of goal. The only worrying aspect so far has been the amount of room Stoke are getting down their left flank and I would not be surprised if that is where a goal is going to come from (if you score ).
just got home from the match, delayed because some poor soul suffered we think a heart attack alongside the A50. The match - the only good thing was the three points. No-one showed any appetite or expertise tonight. Butland did enough to get himself deselected from the England squad. This was a really poor show from Stoke against a very ordinary side who only had ten players after the first thirty minutes. Playing like this on Sunday will see us humiliated. And for the rest of the season this form will not put us in the top half. I have no pleasure in this report, nor did I have much at the match.
After that run of brilliant play we had, it seems to have lost its spark. Hughes needs to freshen it up and make a few changes to keep players focused and on their feet - a new player often does this!
Guys it isn't going to be brilliant every game. 3 points is 3 points, it's still a very new side which needs tinkering. We are 7th after 21 games and 5 points off champions league so ill take a scrappy win.
It's actually frightening how high we are considering this really is a consolidation year whilst finishing the transition from the original squad.
Not negating our performances, but this season has to be the most unpredictable and competitive With a very few exceptions everybody is beating everybody and no team running away with the league.
The title nobody wants to win! I agree re the beat ability of pretty much every team. However, we have to be one of the most unpredictable teams - literally played the likes of Man City, United, Chelsea of the park - then struggle to give relegation teams a game. I was very cautious at the beginning of the year and made reference in a lot of my early posts about consolidation, retention, structure etc. I still stand by my early thoughts, that if we get anywhere near our previous seasons points total or league position that would be extraordinary.
seems the more cautious teams are giving us less space to exploit and without an out an out goal getter we will sometimes struggle in these games.
