    If Short backs O'neill with money as well as he has done with other managers in the past Sunderland could do very well this season.

    We're has this team been the last few weeks, the Liverpool, West Brom, Norwich and Chelsea games were an embarrassment.

    I think that the Mackems form is due to the fact that they have been playing some easy teams recently. I agree that they played well against City and Everton and even against Spurs ... but when 5 of your last 8 matches have been against the bottom 5 teams, then clearly you have to wonder if their sudden burst of form is going to last ...

    Liverpool - played well majority of game until the world class Stevie G came on and he changed it for them. West Brom was a disappointment yes, we were too open, but attack wise very good. Norwich, again we played well attacking, but defensively we were short so played 2 midgets at centre back and Chelsea we were just really unlucky.

    We need some defensive cover and make sure Perch never plays for us ever again then we will be more than OK

    Got nothing against you at all TJR but I have to agree with the above post, you're really reaching there. Sunderland are a decent team under O'neill and are coming for us, the sooner everyone realises this and stops making excuses the better.

    The mackems did it aswell though mind, putting our great start down to luck and nothing else, dont lower yourself to their level.
