From an FFP perspective, for his fee alone (I'm not sure how thew wages element can be written down) I believe we'll be booking a hefty impairment on his book value, which will free up some wiggle room with the FFP number. If we signed him for £55m on a 5 year deal, we'd be looking to write off 20% of his book value (for example). Not sure if you can do this with his wages, whether he takes them or not.
