From an FFP perspective, for his fee alone (I'm not sure how thew wages element can be written down) I believe we'll be booking a hefty impairment on his book value, which will free up some wiggle room with the FFP number.

If we signed him for £55m on a 5 year deal, we'd be looking to write off 20% of his book value (for example). Not sure if you can do this with his wages, whether he takes them or not.

 

We will have new found money for FFP next year anyway due to new deals and CL money
