As I live in Leeds I usually drive over to games, normally watching the game with my brother in law and my two young nephews, but tomorrow I am coming over on the train with a mate.

Have been on the OWS and all of the directions seem to be for getting to the KC via car, so wondered if you guys could assist on a couple of things.

1. About how long will it take us to walk from the train station to the KC? It seems to be about 1 1/2 miles, so thought about 20 mins?

2. Which is the best route to take? I obviously know the way down Anlaby Rd, but know there are other pedestrian routes.

3. Recommendations for a decent place to stop off for a beer on the way (as I usually have my nephews in tow we don't usually get to go to the pub!).

Your spot on it takes 20 mins from paragon. not very far from paragon turn right when you face st stephens and walk all the way down past Tiger Lair and Hull royal and over flyover. easy route
 
As you come off the train and through the exit (facing the hotel) turn left and then walk along the bus aisle and out the other end onto Argyle Street. (You could also walk through St Stephens if you like shops) Generally follow the crowd, but aim towards Clarendon Street. from there you'll see the walk way with Clarendon Pub on the left.

It'll take maybe five minutes from Station to pub and about 10 minutes from there to the Stadium.

If you've more time, walk down to Spring Bank and sup your way that way. About half an hour plus supping.
 
The easiest way to get there is to use the two foot bridges which lead straight to the ground from the town centre, it cuts off going through the park as you would have to going from Anlaby Road (not that that is a problem, it's a nice park).

If you're looking for a drink on the way there is a pub right near the start of the first bridge, but I don't know the name of it or anything about it.
