Given 80 hours community service. "Cardiff City star Lee Tomlin has been sentenced to 80 hours of community service for his part in an early-hours brawl which left a man with a badly broken jaw. Fellow footballer Billy Kee, a forward with League Two side Accrington Stanley, was fined £350 for throwing a punch during the same fight, which was captured on CCTV. Tomlin, 28, admitted affray after prosecutors decided not to proceed with a wounding charge following a review of footage showing the victim squaring up to the players after jumping over a set of railings. Leicester Crown Court was told Kee, 26,who pleaded guilty to common assault, attempted to pull his friend Tomlin away from the confrontation in the city centre on January 22. Both players had been accused of causing grievous bodily harm but were cleared of the charge on the orders of the judge."
MAYBE THEY WILL PUT HIM ON THE M4 J 32 ROUND A BOUT THE FILLIEST ROUND A BOUT IN THE UK THAT SHOULD TAKE 20 HOURS.. THEN the rest of the time cleaning the rest of them from 28 to 34 .. has to be filthiest section of m road in UK
Assume he knew this in advance of Ipswich game as he looked like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. No excuse for what he did but he pleaded guilty and so will pay his dues and now hopefully get on with his day job without any more incident. Will he play even if picked tomorrow? Presumably not involved in training today. ps I wonder if this will have any parallels with the Ben Stokes incident?
I bet he did Nin - this was on the cards since the Judge postponed the last hearing for a fortnight to allow those concerned "to talk to one another". The prosecution knew full well they'd never get the GBH charge to stick with access to the CCTV footage. Affray was the best they could get him on - probably a bit plea bargaining went on. Against Ipswich he was a different player in confidence if not full fitness. He's got to start tomorrow. The hearing was sheduled of 10.00am this morning and wouldn't have lasted many minutes - it was cut and dried before that. Probably back in Cardiff with the rest of the squad after lunchtime and raring to go.
Morning Supcon - or is it good evening where you are. The jury may be out on Tomlin as a player with us, but no jury for Tomlin yesteday - just a Judge to direct the case. Hopefully he'll leave that behind him and express himself on the pitch for us rather than in the pub.
It's evening here OS. Does anyone have any links to a live stream of the game please? I was hoping it would be on BeIn Sports, but sadly not.....
