Good Business? Why sell a player who excels at this level to a rival. I have no faith in Bruce getting a decent replacement.
6 million quid we could get 2 or 3 decent larkers in or get a marquee loan signing, someone like Gnabry from Arsenal or Sanago. No way Ince is worth that money
Well I do, so there you go, in fact two or three. You need to get over the Bruce stuff, he's here for next season and is up to the job in the Championship, spit your dummy back out if we don't go back up
I wouldn't, the lad has consecutively proven he's good for 20 goals a season and God knows how many assists at this level, and that's coming from the wing. How much would a striker with a similar record over the last 3 or 4 years cost?
Yes, I rate the man too, a little on the small side but a very good footballer. Swansea have apparently told him he's free to leave in search of more game time, or so I heard in the radio the other day, but I reckon there'll be some in the first division will be happy to get him on board and thus out of our reach.
I'd say 6 million is great business for him and as much as we'd get. I'd prefer to keep him but 6 million is the right figure if we don't. I'm not a manager or a scout and I know there are players like Gnabry available who are are better than Ince, we could potentially get him for peanuts and sign a couple more players. If I know that then I think a professional manager like Bruce will.
Another thing I'd add to Bruces ability to sign players is that he has somebody like Phelan to hand who is going to be superbly well connected when it comes to transfers and loan signings, we can more than compensate for losing a player like Ince who has never really actually played for us anyway
We're looking for instant promotion, the best way to achieve that is to have quality proven players, these young kids from top clubs are all gambles, many show lots of promise at an early age but fail to do much of note, Caneron Stewart looked a world beater at first now look at him. For every success story there are probably 5 or 6 failures.
Look. If we get Derby home or away in august then sell him afterwards IF DERBY can/will pay the fee in one lump sum. If not then we keep him. Ince wont get a start once Snodgrass and Diame are fit. Whilst i agree that Ince is quality in the championship he let Derby down by going into hiding in the key end of season games. £5-6m for a player with one year left who we would not want in the PL is good business.
If this is a benchmark for a player that hardly played in the Premier League, how much are the rest of them worth, Brady, Robertson, Elmo etc?
I would be surprised if Diame lasts 2 games in the Championship. It's the replacement thing I have a problem with, because I think Brady will go as well. Bruce has bought a lot of duds in his career.
I dont see Brady going unless a club who wont be in the relegation scrap comes in for him. However, I can see Brady giving us one more season to get back. Next summer will be a disaster IF we dont go back up. As for Diame i dont expect him to be fit until after the transfer window closes.
I will find it in me to give Bruce until Christmas, but if we are nowhere near the top 6 then get rid.
Good point re. Ince at the end of the season, also questions have to be asked as to why he couldn't nail down a spot with us in the first place, what happened in training and his attitude compared to the other lads
Sell Ince put the money towards Rhodes, no one will moan then, apparently us and DQPR are after him, we need a poacher to get on Bradys/Elmos crosses, not Ince who wants to leave, if they don't want to play for us **** em!
Is he the type of striker to get on the end of Bradys/elmos crosses?? I don't remember him been some sort of target man which is what we need with the crosses coming deep as they do, Or is he another striker well buy and won't play to his strengths and we'll turn another half decent striker into a sack of ****e!
He's 6'1" and is very good in the air, one of only a few to score a hat trick of headers, I think against Leeds or Huddersfield?
